Unfortunately, I lack the right term so that I can describe the place shown here with only one word or at least two words. At first I thought of a Buddhist temple. But it doesn't look like a temple either. Buddhist sanctuary might be a more appropriate choice of words.

Based on Google Lens, the sign says Xiangxue (Want to learn) cave. I can not verify further is the translation correct or not, nevertheless makes sense in this place. The name of the place is Golden Stupa Penang Hill. Stupa, that are the structures looking like cones.

Leider fehlt mir der richtige Begriff, damit ich den hier gezeigten Ort mit nur einem Wort oder wenigstens zwei Wörtern beschreiben kann. Zuerst dachte ich an einen buddhistischen Tempel. Aber nach Tempel sieht das alles auch nicht aus. Buddhistisches Heiligtum könnte eine treffendere Wortwahl sein.

Basierend auf Google Lens, steht auf dem Schild Xiangxue (Möchte lernen) Höhle. Weiter überprüfen, ob die Übersetzung soweit richtig ist, kann ich nicht, ergibt dennoch einen Sinn an diesem Ort. Name des Ortes ist Golden Stupa Penang Hill. Stupa, das sind die wie Kegel aussehenden Gebilde.

Off I went on a narrow path between the trees. The path led up to a terrace and at intervals, there were left and right of the path, again and again to see a Stupa, placed always and exclusively and also not differently seen by me in this place, on a rock.

Los ging es auf einem schmalen Weg zwischen den Bäumen. Der Weg führte hinauf zu einer Terrasse und in Abständen, gab es links und rechts vom Weg, immer wieder einen Stupa zu sehen, platziert immer und ausschließlich und auch nicht anders von mir gesehen an diesem Ort, auf einem Felsen.

Above, on the right of the picture, that is the terrace mentioned. Before that, the path to it no longer winding through the trees, but between the even larger rocks than the ones from the beginning.

Oben, rechts im Bild, das ist die erwähnte Terrasse. Davor schlängelte sich der Weg dorthin nicht mehr an Bäumen vorbei, sondern lag zwischen den noch größeren Felsen als die vom Anfang des Weges.

From further up it could be seen clearly better that there were incredibly many Stupa, which were set up here. Would have been interesting to know how many there are and whether the number, then again also has a religious meaning. But the effort of counting I did not want to take on me.

Von weiter oben ließ sich deutlich besser erkennen, dass es unglaublich viele Stupa waren, die hier aufgestellt wurden. Wäre interessant gewesen, zu wissen, wie viele es sind und ob die Anzahl, dann auch wieder eine religiöse Bedeutung hat. Aber die Mühe des Zählens wollte ich nicht auf mich nehmen.

At the top there were then the fattest rocks of the place to see, embedded in between Buddha statues and altars. What I already noticed anyway, not only here but also elsewhere in places like this, on the mountains, partly the landscape is left as it is, while the man-made is inserted into it without changing much or anything further of the landscape. The path follows the course of the mountain and so on, I think you know what I mean.

Ganz oben gab es dann die fettesten Felsen des Ortes zu sehen, dazwischen eingebettet Buddhastatuen und Altäre. Was mir ohnehin schon aufgefallen ist, nicht nur hier, sondern auch anderswo, bei Orten wie diesen, auf den Bergen, teilweise wird die Landschaft so belassen wie sie ist, während das Menschen geschaffene darin eingefügt wird, ohne viel oder nichts weiter von der Landschaft zu verändern. Der Weg folgt dem Verlauf des Berges und so weiter, ich denke, ihr wisst, worauf ich hinaus will.

For a last time i looked back, time to leave. Either I was never attentive enough or have not found other places like this before. Actually, I knew a Stupa only from Buddhist temples in Thailand. Maybe now I'll notice more of them elsewhere, in Malaysia.

Noch einmal zurückgeschaut, als es wieder zurückging. Entweder ich war nie aufmerksam genug oder habe bisher keine anderen Orte dieser Art gefunden. Eigentlich kannte ich einen Stupa nur von buddhistischen Tempeln in Thailand. Vielleicht fallen mir jetzt mehr davon auch anderorts auf, in Malaysia.
