Bolivar Square in Caracas
In the year 1567 the city of Caracas was founded in the middle of a valley characterized by dense vegetation and the presence of numerous rivers, ravines and streams, in addition the mountains that surrounded the place served as natural protection against future enemy incursions, therefore This was an ideal place to position a small and new Spanish city that would initially make its way with only 25 blocks, in whose central grid would be set aside to build a Plaza Mayor there, following the urban customs and traditions of the Spanish crown.

En el año 1567 la ciudad de Caracas era fundada en medio de un valle caracterizado por la densa vegetación y la presencia de numerosos ríos, quebradas y arroyos, además las montañas que rodeaban al lugar servían de protección natural ante futuras incursiones enemigas, por lo tanto este era un lugar ideal para posicionar una pequeña y nueva ciudad española que se abriría paso inicialmente con solo 25 manzanas, en cuya cuadricula central seria apartada para edificar allí una Plaza Mayor, esto siguiendo las costumbres y tradiciones urbanas de la corona española.

Siguiendo un poco con el hilo histórico de este lugar se puede resaltar que su nombre cambio luego de la gesta independentista venezolana, ya que por orden del nuevo gobierno paso a denominarse Plaza de Armas o Plaza del Mercado, pero esta es una situación que no perduraría en el tiempo, ya que sobre el año 1842 con la llegada de los restos mortales del Libertador a Caracas esta manzana comenzó a conocerse informalmente como Plaza Bolívar y así fue pasando de generación en generación hasta que el Presidente y General Antonio Guzmán Blanco comenzaría un profundo proceso de renovación del lugar, con lo cual se oficializo el nombre y mencionado y al mismo tiempo la plaza seria remozada con un fuerte estilo francés.

The square is characterized by housing a large number of squirrels, the occasional sloth and many pigeons, who with their presence fill the whole scene with life and joy, as they manage to attract the attention of children and adults, generating a very interesting dynamic. .
La Plaza Bolívar que conocemos hoy en día es prácticamente la misma que en 1872 el General Guzmán Blanco comenzó a edificar, es el espacio publico por excelencia de la capital venezolana, convirtiéndose a un lugar ideal para el encuentro del pueblo, para el esparcimiento de los niños y para el disfrute de turistas, la plaza se caracteriza por contar con amplios jardines, muchos arboles y un indiscutible color verde, dentro de estos espacios también se puede disfrutar de cuatro grandes fuentes que ornamentalmente le dan un equilibrio genial a todo el espacio y al mismo tiempo llenan de frescura a todo el entorno. La plaza se caracteriza por albergar una gran cantidad de ardillas, alguna que otra pereza y muchas palomas, quienes con su presencia llenan de vida y alegría a todo este escenario, ya que logran llamar la atención de niños y adultos, generando una dinámica muy interesante.

In addition, it has a very interesting peculiarity, its pedestal not only serves as a base for the bronze work, but inside it keeps a unique time capsule in Caracas, where according to official records objects such as coins, photographs, documents and medals, which serve as witnesses and give a historical reference to Caracas in the 19th century.
Sin duda alguna la principal característica de La Plaza Bolívar es la gran estatua ecuestre del Libertador realizada por el escultor Adamo Tadolini que corona el centro de todo este espacio, su instalación en este lugar data de 1874 y se trata de una replica de la estatua ubicada en la Plaza Bolívar de la ciudad de Lima en Perú, no cabe duda de que la estatua cuenta con un diseño exquisito, en donde los detalles se aprecian de forma perfecta y donde la figura del Libertador se enaltece de forma perfecta, transmitiéndole a todos los transeúntes su grandeza y trascendencia histórica. Además, esta cuenta con una peculiaridad muy interesante, su pedestal no solo sirve de base para la obra de bronce, sino que en su interior guarda una cápsula del tiempo única en Caracas, en donde según los registros oficiales reposan objetos como monedas, fotografías, documentos y medallas, los cuales sirven de testigos y dan una referencia histórica de la Caracas del siglo XIX.
