If last week I told you about my trip to Wat Damnak, this time I will tell you again about something very special in Wat Bo. One of the big temples and also the biggest Buddhist school in Siem Reap. Wat Bo, a temple full of beauty and also very quiet.
Not far from the biggest river in this city, Siem Reap, using a traditional tuk-tuk (although a bit more expensive than a modern tuk-tuk), I arrived at my next destination, Wat Bo. From Wat Damnak it only takes 5 minutes by tuk-tuk and the best thing is, this place is free with no entrance fee. If you want to save money while traveling in Cambodia, remember that there are many temples that can be visited easily and cheaply. Of course, with your generosity, donate a little of your money to the charity box there.
Wat Bo is a temple that has several large buildings in its area. When compared to Wat Damnak, Wat Bo has a larger and much wider area, but unlike Wat Damnak which is crowded, Wat Bo is much quieter. I don't know why, maybe because of the bad timing when I came (maybe).
That afternoon, we also saw the beautiful architecture of several buildings in the Wat Bo area. Including several statues and offerings in this area. Honestly, Wat Bo seems to have cooler air, the air is very comfortable and also clean. It's good, but when I was there, all the buildings seemed very crowded. It seemed like there was a lecture because this is a place for monks to study.
There are 3 buildings that are quite interesting, some of which also look different from Wat Damnak. In Wat Bo, I saw that there seemed to be Hindu elements, there was a mixture with Buddhism. Like some elephant statues that I saw at several entrances to the temple.
They tend to be like new buildings, even similar to the temple in Bangkok that I have seen. There are many similarities but they are quite distinguishable. It seems like there are many things that can be learned about the architecture in Wat Bo.
Wat Bo is also one of the temples that has close cooperation with the Indian government. That means there is indeed a Hindu touch here, marked by a large sign in front of one of the temples with writing like this:
Well, there is one fairly large area, where there are many buildings and also small pagoda statues arranged in a certain area. Is this a stupa which is a cemetery for monks like the ones in Myanmar? I really don't know because there is no information whatsoever. I wanted to ask the people here but I only saw a few tourists. Finally I went home without an answer.
Anyone know? Give me some information!

Call me Isdarmady, sometimes Mady, Putra or anything you want. I have a pretty long name but call me very nicely. There are many things I like, especially hydroponics and coffee, sometimes I also like traveling and eating whatever I want. Life should be like that, there must be many things you like so you can live well. Of course, what you want is a dream, so, when you have a dream then what you have to do is to achieve that dream, don't just let it be a dream.
There are many things I tell on my Blog, I hope you like it. Never hesitate to leave a comment, because your comments mean so much to keep me moving forward.

The big temple looks very special. You managed to visit a very nice place. There is also a large and beautiful garden around the temple. Have a nice day, my friend.
Take a look at some photos of the building's scenery which really shows off its incredibly attractive design. It must be really fun to relax there 🙏❤️
Cheers 🤗 what a beauty, my friend. That Asian architecture has always struck me as really charming; ornaments ranging from ostentatious to modest, strong and peculiar columns, ceilings with different finishes than western ones and so on. What a space, really devotion is a reason to visit.
Wat Bo looks like such a peaceful and fascinating place, full of cultural depth and beautiful architecture. I loved reading about the Hindu-Buddhist elements and the calm atmosphere you described. Your photos really bring the place to life. Thanks for sharing this hidden gem in Siem Reap so beautifully!
