Hi, Worldmappin! Let's escape the winter season and go to a Southeast Asian country. Here's my entry to the #winterchallenge. I bring you to Thailand in the year December 2018.
I was on a solo backpacking trip in the last quarter of 2018 from September 2018 to January 2019, that's a total of 4 months. I was in Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia. I met my husband in Thailand.
I will show you some of the highlights we did on the island.
Boat to Koh Phangan
We were in Koh Samui and took a boat to Koh Phangan. Our goal was to experience the Full Moon Party at Koh Phangan. Of course, we love to visit different beaches to snorkel.
For Westerners, Thailand is the best country to escape winter. Everything is affordable from room rental, motorbike rental, food, and transportation.
We took the motorbike with us from a rental in Koh Samui. It is very convenient to get around the island if you know how to drive a motorbike. Koh Phangan is just near Koh Samui.
Paradise Waterfalls
We booked accommodation at Paradise Waterfalls, so we had easy access to the falls. It was fun and cool here, and it is a very relaxing place. If you're not staying here, you will pay an entrance fee with a drink for each person.
We took a lot of videos but it was on my husband's action camera.
People enjoyed the Tarzan jump. Hahaha! We were just cool here in the waterfalls because we were getting ready for the full moon party at night.
Full Moon Party
After dinner, we prepared ourselves for the Full Moon Party, the original full moon party that happened in Koh Phangan. Once in a lifetime every traveler going to Thailand should visit the island and experience this.
On our way to the party, we were greeted by the Christmas lights and it was a fun sight to see with our motorbike ride.
It was fully packed when we arrived. We were looking for a place to park our motorbike. Other people started to get drunk. This is the entrance to the world's original full moon party. You have to pay 100 Baht for the entry.
We were at Haadrin Beach to enjoy the Full Moon Party. It was my first time to experience it so I've heard that many crazy things are going on. If you want to get drunk, buy booze as much as you want.
I remember my husband brought a French wine for this party. My husband has the other photos. So I might ask him about it and publish it at some other time.
We got hungry in the middle of the night so we bought potato fries, one whole pizza, and chicken satay with peanut butter sauce. Yum!
All you see are several people flooding the area. OMG, it was crazy. People were screaming, loud music, people getting drunk, and people went swimming with their drinks.
People were dancing, too. Indeed, it was the craziest island party I've been to.
I felt like I didn't take so many photos because I started to get drunk with margaritas and the French wine my husband brought us.
I thought we could stay longer until the sun rose but I was impatient already. I prefer to go back to our accommodation and go to sleep.
The Cabin Beach Resort
The next day, we went to visit The Cabin Beach Resort. We had nothing to pay for as you can enjoy the beach for free. We enjoyed the scenery.
I looked so haggard after the party so no photos of me here. But I love the peaceful atmosphere in this area. I will blog more about this in a different article as I have so many photos. Hehe!

I thought the party in Boracay was crazy but the Koh Phangan Full Moon Party is the craziest of them all. hahaha.
