Hello, Hivers!
@itsmemic once again and welcome to Part 2 of my blog, where I share everything about our Working Scholar Organization Christmas Party.
🎉 Venue and First Impressions
We celebrated our party at Miranda Beach Resort in San Remigio. Since we had already reserved the place, we went straight inside.
The venue is spacious, making it perfect for our games and activities. Upon entering, you’ll notice how clean and serene the place is—truly an ideal spot for a gathering.
The resort also has plenty of coconut trees, adding to the tropical vibe.
Here’s a glimpse of the breathtaking view of the sea from the resort. Although it wasn't high yet, the tide was predicted to rise eventually. I find that celebrating at the seaside has a unique charm because of the cool breeze, the calm atmosphere, and the refreshing setting for socializing with friends.
👥 A Gathering of Scholars
Did you know? There were more than 100 working students who joined the party!
When we arrived, some of our fellow scholars were already there, preparing the setup. They were:
- Hanging the tarpaulin in the perfect spot.
- Arranging the chairs for everyone.
📸 Picture-Perfect Moments
As usual, we headed to the beach for some fun photo sessions. I invited my office friend to join me, and we even took silhouette shots, forming a heart with our hands.
Here are some of my favorite shots by the ocean. It was great that the tide wasn’t too high yet, giving us ample time for picture-perfect moments.
🌴 Back to the Resort
After a while, we returned to the resort because my friends needed to practice their dance presentation. Their group members handed out adorable Christmas-themed headbands to match the festive vibe.
Meanwhile, I helped with the balloon decorations to speed up the setup. Others were busy covering tables and arranging chairs, ensuring everything was ready before the program started.
🎁 Exchanging Gifts
Each of us brought a gift as part of our attendance for the morning. It was heartwarming to see the pile of colorful paper bags waiting for the gift exchange later.
🎭 Group Presentations
There were four groups competing in a presentation contest. Some were already practicing with their props to perfect their performance. The excitement was palpable!
🍴 Seating and Catering
I reserved seats for the finance working students, choosing a table in a shady spot to avoid the heat. Catering was arranged for the event, making it hassle-free and allowing us to enjoy the moment fully.
By the way, these are some of their props for the presentation later. Before the presentation, we also had lunch to ensure we had enough energy to dance later.
Lunch Time
We just lined up here, and as usual, we followed my classmate whom I mentioned in my previous blog.
While waiting in line, I took some shots from where we were standing.
Gift Picking
After lunch, we were asked to draw numbers. The officers came to us to let us pick, and the number we got corresponded to the gift we’d receive.
I got number 85 and prayed that I’d get something nice since my coworker only got a cash gift – their paper bag only had money inside.
When my number was called, I quickly went to claim my gift, and I was so happy with what I received! Yay! It was:
- A water bottle
- A towel with a handkerchief (I loved the ribbon on the towel and the packaging)
- A set of colored pens
Presentations
After we all picked our numbers, it was time for the presentations of the four groups.
Two of my coworkers from the same department were in Group 3, so I told them:
"Guys, let’s take a picture! You all look so classy in your outfits – it’s giving!"
After taking those shots, the groups started presenting one by one. Minutes later, the winners were announced, and Group 3 won! Even though they were the winners, everyone still received prizes, so no one went home empty-handed.
Photo Session
While they were announcing the winners, we took pictures at the entrance because I saw some coworkers doing a photoshoot there, and I decided to join in. And yes, it was such a perfect spot for pictures!
Afterward, all of us working students took a group picture with our banner. I was also wearing the outfit I mentioned in my previous blog.
And that’s it for today’s vlog, my dear Hivers!
Thank you for staying tuned, and may we all have a joyful and merry Christmas!
