Good day, my dear Hivers!

Today, I want to share with you our trip to Guiwanon Cold Spring, which is now called Banyan Spring Resort in Tabogon, Northern Cebu.

The location is still the same; they just changed the name and renovated the place to make it more beautiful and memorable for tourists.

However, this trip actually happened back in 2022. Every time we have an outing or a birthday to celebrate, we never really plan where to swim—we always decide on the spot. That time, we agreed to go to Guiwanon because it was popular on social media and also close to us since we’re from Tabogon. Although the road leading there was not in great condition back then, we still decided to go.

It became famous because it is surrounded by nature, and the water is incredibly clean.

Entrance Fee Hesitation

At first, we were hesitant to go because there was an entrance fee, unlike the beaches we usually visit for free. Being a private resort, they charge visitors for maintenance and upkeep. However, my uncle offered to pay for everyone’s entrance so we could experience swimming there.

We brought two vehicles since there were quite a few of us—my siblings, relatives from my mom’s side, and our own family.

How to Get There?

Here’s what I know about reaching the resort:

📍 Exact Location: Brgy. Maslog, Tabogon, Cebu. The spring is along the main road leading to Tabogon proper.

🚌 By Bus:

  • Go to the North Bus Terminal in Cebu City.
  • Take a bus going via Bogo City or directly to Tabogon.
  • If you take the Tabogon bus, it will turn at the intersection (skina Tabogon).
  • If you take a Bogo-bound bus, just tell the conductor to drop you off at "Skina Tabogon."

🏍️ By Habal-Habal (Motorcycle Taxi):

  • If you get off at Skina Tabogon, there are motorcycle taxis (habal-habal) waiting to take passengers to the spring.

Travel Time: Around 3 hours.

Our Experience

When we arrived, there weren’t many people. We had to approach the staff to rent a table and chairs, but we only rented one since we didn’t bring a lot of food.

A few minutes later, we finally went swimming. The water was freezing cold but refreshing, and the whole place felt so relaxing. The surroundings, with tall trees and the sound of nature, made the experience even more enjoyable. It was the kind of trip where you could just disconnect and appreciate the beauty of nature.

And that’s all for today, dear Hivers!
