PART 2 : Picture-Perfect Memories at Maño San Remegio Beach

Hello, guys! Good day!

This is a continuation of my previous blog, where I'll share the highlights of our trip to Maño San Remegio Beach. As I mentioned in my previous blog, the place is genuinely wonderful—clean, peaceful, and with refreshingly fresh air. When we arrived, there were already people singing karaoke, and some were seated and using the first cottage near the entrance. I must say, their song choices were great, and it helped set a good mood for me right from the start.

When we got there, my dad parked the car, and we began unloading our food.

I volunteered to help carry the food to make things quicker, even though my companions (mostly the boys) said they'd handle it since they're stronger. I insisted because I enjoy helping. As I mentioned before, we had reserved a cottage in advance, so we went straight there to set up our food.

What We Brought to the Beach

We brought a chiller for soft drinks, mainly Coca-Cola, because my family loves it. We also placed watermelon inside the chiller to keep it cold. I personally think watermelon tastes so much better when it's cold—it’s super refreshing and perfect for a beach day! (Ignore the white stuff and hands in the picture. My brother was reaching for something just as I took the shot, and this was the only picture I got of the chiller because I was too excited to photograph the food.)

For the main dishes, we had quite a variety:

image.png

  • Shrimp: I’m not sure how it was cooked because I just enjoy eating it without asking.

image.png

  • Fried Adobo: This was crispy and delicious! It’s so satisfying to eat even without rice because of the crunch and the savory flavor.

image.png

  • Fish Escabeche: There wasn’t much left when I got around to taking a picture because it was already being enjoyed by everyone. We prepared this separately for my grandma because it’s her favorite, and I know how much she loves it.

  • Marinated Pork: This was grilled by my uncles right by the beach. There was a grilling station nearby, which was very convenient. The pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful when grilled because it had been marinated for hours.

We had the following for sweets and snacks:

  • Saging Kardaba (Boiled Cardava Bananas): Simple yet filling, especially after swimming.
  • Sweet Kamote (Boiled Sweet Potatoes): Another classic Filipino snack.
  • Biko: A sweet rice cake made with coconut milk, brown sugar, and sticky rice.

  • Gulaman: This one had tapioca pearls and coconut bits, and even though I wasn’t a fan of gulaman before, this version was so delicious that it changed my mind.

Fun Moments at the Beach

After setting up, I joined my cousins by the shore. There were children happily playing in the sand, and one of my cousins even got his whole body (except for his face) covered with sand by the others. It was so cute and funny that I couldn’t resist helping out when one of the kids asked me to.

The sand at the beach was incredible—soft, clean, and ideal for sandcastle construction. What about the view? Absolutely stunning. The seashells scattered along the shore added to its charm, and the vast, clear sea was so calming to look at.

The large rocks along the shore were stunning too, blending naturally with the landscape and adding to the serene vibe. The greenery surrounding the beach made the whole place feel alive and pristine.

I also took a shadow shot where I made a hand gesture. It looked aesthetic and artsy against the sunlit sand!

Of course, I didn’t miss the chance to have my picture taken by the beach. The backdrop of the clear skies and sparkling water made for a picture-perfect memory.
