We had a chance to get out of the hustle and bustle in the city, started to make memories and relax after the tiring and exhausting week. We did not really plan on staying in a resort or hotel last week but I guess it’s always best not to plan your staycations or trips because those trips that do not go as planned will always turn out great and memorable.
My family's travel goal this year is to take one small trip and vacation every month. The more the merrier, hopefully.
Saturday morning, we packed our things, clothes, food, toiletries, etc. We also made sure we had a full tank of gas. Hour before we left, I was able to book a resort in Tagaytay- a popular holiday town south of Manila. We originally planned to actually just travel there since it’s one of the most accessible tourist/vacation spots to go to from Manila and to find a fine restaurant to eat bulalo (Filipino Beef Marrow Stew) but we ended up booking a place to stay. We left around 1pm and we arrived at our destination at 4PM. We first checked in, settled, checked out the place. The place is very cozy, calming, tidy and romantic. Only few people were there who had accommodation that day. I was able to book one of the cabins in the resort since the suite and deluxe rooms were occupied. This place is perfect if you want to unwind, relax because it’s very peaceful and comforting. If you also want to experience chilling, or catching up with your favorite people this is the great place to be, bonfire, night swim, marshmallow, beer or chocolate, overnight chat etc.
Once you entered this place, Quennie, their lovable horse will give you the warmest welcome.
Welcome to our Garden Cabin! Ideally, this cabin is for two person only but since we had our daughter with us, we did our best to fit ourselves in the room and it was not that bad.
The picturesque and lovely patio and the garden where you can sit, relax and chat.
After we checked in and chose the cabin, we left to eat since we are starving. We went to Twin Lakes first to withdraw from the atm because we did not have cash. Twin Lakes shopping village is located in the open grassland of Tagaytay - Nasugbu Hwy Laurel . It’s the first ever vineyard community in the province of Batangas.
We also dropped by and bought our favorite asado bun in this bakery near twin lakes, our favorite bakery here. Asado bun here is cheap but tasty.
We also looked for a place to eat just before we head back to the inn. We were in alert level 3 because of the covid restriction so it's hard to find a place to eat because we had our daughter with us who's 9 years old. Luckily nearby twin lakes, we were able to find this eatery named Juddies.
These were some of the dishes available which are staples in most of the eateries or restaurants in Tagaytay City. They had lechon kawali, fried tawilis and crablets. But, I just realized while writing this that I did not ask or oder bulalo. 😜
One of the dishes I ordered which is my all-time favorite is the sinaing na tulingan (braised fish). This is great with hot, steaming white rice.
So after dinner, we headed back to the resort. Along the way we planned to swim and chill before we go to bed to sleep.
Here in Hidden Pines you'll get to experience their Moroccan Pool enchanted with Middle Eastern charm. We swam and stayed in the poolside for about 2 hours. My only concern is, the pool is not heated. I wished it was. Nevertheless, my daughter enjoyed it very much.
We went to bed around 12AM. This is the view of our bedroom for that night. Nice and clean.
It's Sunday morning, we woke up very early around 4AM, had to go to the restroom and went back to sleep. We finally got up around 7AM. We had our breakfast in the cafe. We had pancakes, meatloaf, bacon, eggs and cappucino.
We were thinking to get a ride with Quennie that morning to maximize the experience before we checked out. And yes, my daughter got to experience riding a horse for the first time.
Look at our bubbly tyrone striking a post under the big tree.
Overall, that quick getaway is superb and looking forward next month for another trip. It's a love month so it has to be a romantic getaway.
How about you? Where have you been last week? Talk again later.
Wow Jade naol nakakapag vacay. Kami dito sa San Pablo medyo malayo pa makapag ganyan now. Hopefully i allowed na ang mga babies sa mga galaan ( pero baka di rin kami makalabas kung sakali man haha).
The place was wonderful and thank you for sharing this. Inggit ako 😂!LUV !PIZZA
hey Oli...lucky you and prila lapit lang kayo sa mga hot spring resorts of laguna. Ang tagal ko na gusto magbabad sa heated herbal pool. hehehe..
Whoaa! You've got a nice lil cabin and the place looks pretty cozy too :) I was longing for a getaway but our area getting an alert level 3 is making it impossible to go beyond the borders.
The restriction is real...Hoping you'll have a nice vacay too..
