Hello everyone!
Hope you all are doing great!
Today's blog is all about my visit to church at Kasauli on a foggy day. As winter just hit the Himachal, so all you can see is fog all around you. It become difficult to drive on a foggy day , but also it's fun. Here are some of the pictures I took from my camera and I love how they turned out. It's more like you have entered a black and white world. As we started our journey early in the morning, so the road was completely empty and everything around was still.
Soon after two and half hour we reached near Solan. Solan is a beautiful town, completely drenched in dense forest. And vegetables and fruits from Solan are famous all around the world. They are healthy, organically grown and fresh and crisp.
Our way we saw some School going children's crossing road and playing in the foggy weather. They were enjoying the fullest. It felt great watching them. It reminded me of my childhood. when I used to play in dance in the rain. I miss those days.
Soon we reached Kasauli, which is a charming and majestic hill station, situated in the lap of nature completely away from the distraction of the modern world. To be more accurate it is at Solan district of Himachal Pradesh and it's popular among travellers for the Beauty and historical building. The altitude of this place is one thousand nine hundred twenty seven meters and it is narly sixty kilometres from Shimla. It took us 3 hours to reach here on a foggy weather. It also has a long history with the british during the colonial era.*The name.Kasauli is drive from the flower call kasool which means natural unspoiled beauty. The impact of british on this area was huge and you can still see some of the old buildings made during the British colonial era. For me, a visit to church always offers a tranquil escape. And it's best for architecture lovers and those who seek spirituality between the nature. It is among one of the best architectural Building form during the British rule.
The history of this place dates back to 1850 when the town was originally a mde as a contaminant area by the britishers for its army. Visiting here feels like stepping back in time. This historic Anglican church is called Christ church Kasauli and it was built-in 1853 in Gothic style and its among one of the most iconic landmarks of the Kasauli.
The highlights of this church is pointed arches and different types of windows and gabbled roofs. The history of this place is rich. More you explore more it's unfolds in front of you. Surrounded by the pine and deodar trees, this place is no less than heaven for those who love nature, wants to Spend some time alone, who always seek some motivation from the beauty created by the God.
The interior after church is as beautiful as the exterior. It Is made up of large class windows and it has some of the antique and unique food in furnishings. It gives you the vintage vibes. In front of me, I saw a beautiful couple and I took a picture of them. It's lovely how they both are smiling. As soon as you enter the church , you can feel the peace and the calm vibes all around you. If you are someone with keen interest in history, then this please definitely should be in your bucket list. The beauty of this place has attracted lots of spiritual seekers, history buffs and architecture admirable all over the world.
The most distinctive feature of the church is a huge round click on top of it. It's unique and made in traditional style with numbers written in Roman Language. Everyone there was admiring the beauty of clock, truly it's iconic.
The weather here is completely unpredictable during winters and these are some of the pictures that I have taken before entering the church. Let me also share some of the pictures after I came out from the church.
Surprising right? People at Himachal are quite familiar with this these type of surprises And they are always well prepared. Cause of the foggy weather I was unable to roam around. But this experience was quite unique in itself. The foggy weather has made it more vintage, aesthetic and dramatic.
And this is the view in front of me, pine trees standing still, completely drenched in the foggy weather. The hills in the background are not at all visible. The temperature here was around seven degree celsius and the cold breeze here at hill top was making it hard to stay outside. So this is all about today's blog.
I hope you enjoyed it.
