Hello Hivers!
How are you all?
Recently I have been discovering mere about my village Jhalta Jubbal, at Himachal Pradesh India and to my surprise I found a gem, a real one.
These type of houses are rere these days as they are now replaced with new ones. It was a beautiful morning and I decided to visit the an area called Patsari. Although it doesn't have much houses or people living there but I have heard that its increasingly beautiful. And in this beautiful area I spotted this. I can't believe my eyes and got completely attracted towards its unique pahari architecture. Well it's not just the houses but the whole trail was mesmerizing.
The Trail
How could you not expext something magical while walking through this mesmerizing and incredible beautiful pathways. The calmness in the air helped me out by clearing my thoughts.
In the picture above, you can see two yellowish dome shaped structure actually thse are called toli in Pahari or in the regional language. These are dry grass arranged in such a way that it doesn't get affected or bad by snow or rainfall in the winter.
The Gem 💎
It's an old house, nearly 50 years old and made in Kath kuni style which is quite common in Himachal Pradesh, Indian. Kath kuni architecture make a harmonic balance between the wood, mud and the stone. Also these type of houses does not have room interconnected, so they make this varanda or gallery which is completely made up of wood. The wood used in timber or sometimes deodar. Such type of architecture is suitable according to the weather condition of Himachal Pradesh. During summers, the temperature inside these houses are low due to the mud and the stone and at winters the wood provides the warmth required.
In the entrance, some stones were placed in such an amazing order that you won't feel the need of stairs, that's the beauty of such houses. Kath kuni style architecture generally use material found locally and easily like these stones.
The varanda is completely wooden, making it easier for people to walk comfortably even in the freezing cold when outside temperature is below zero.
This cottage is so close to nature, surrounded by evergreen trees and wild plants its perfect for nature lovers and those who are found of stunning view. It's surprise that after so many years, the structure is intact, strong and far better than modern houses.
Some unique details
Have a look, I found it quite unique and wanted to share with you guys. It's a design based on personal preference but 50 years ago, that's interesting!
Can you guys guess what it is ?
Its a bee hive which is common in such houses for the production of honey. Bee cultivation used to be a common practice earlier but nowadays it has vanished with modernization, do ket me know in comment about your opinion in this.
Ans this is door to a room for cattles with an unique lock. Earlier people use to keep their cattles in the room directly below them and as you all know by now that thay are made of wood so they use to get warm easily making the temperature suitable for both.
The Mind-blowing View
Here you can see different mountains one after the other getting little fade but providing an amazing view. These mountains have different villages situated in them along with number of people living. This place has everything one could ask for!
The apple farm
Adding to its beauty, the apple farm arround complements the cottage even more. Well the apple season has passed and most ofvthe trees have shed their leave, but still they are stunning. Have a look.
The farm and cottage is owned by an old couple and they take care of all the maintenance. Growing and harvesting apple is not a cup of cake but look how gracefully the garden is gardening.
Situated in the lap of nature this cottage also have deodar tree, rhododendron tree and different varieties of bushes arround which provides an aroma which satisfies your soul. Also it's a perfect spot to witness sunset and sunrise. I explored the place for more than an hour and enjoyed the view with soothing music and I'm in love with the cottage and I hope you loved it too.
