Hey there! How are you, my fellow Hivers? There comes in my mind how traveling really becomes a natural therapy… so for today’s blog, I am going to share with you all how my weekend experience at the sugary-white beach in the southern part of Cebu, which is Tingko Beach Resort located at Alcoy, Cebu, Philippines.
It was truly an amazing place to hang out with your family and friends because it is affordable and clean. So yeah, last Saturday we planned to have a beach trip with the whole family. We woke up at 4am in the morning to prepare so we could depart at 5am because we wanted to arrive at the beach early. We are all excited and delighted… since we are also planning to ride a boat going to the sandbar of Alcoy. Upon arriving at the beach, the sunrise painted the sky in beautiful hues of orange and pink,setting the perfect backdrop for our day of fun,. As we unloaded our things and set up our spot on the sand, the laughter and chatter of my family filled the air, amplifying our anticipation for the exciting boat ride ahead.
I was a little bit dizzy when we arrived because it’s been a while since I traveled on a long trip, and I also hadn’t taken my breakfast yet, so yeah, this may be caused by my dizziness. Anyways, we are busy preparing our foods; some were assigned to grill the fish and pork, and the girls were also busy arranging the things and cooking rice. While everyone is so busy, the kids are already swimming at the beach and making sand castles. I was so happy just looking at them having their best time. It reminded me of my own childhood summers spent by the ocean, where laughter and joy filled the air,. ❤️As the aroma of grilled food started to smell through the beach, I felt a full of excitement knowing that soon we would all gather to share a meal and create more wonderful memories together.
Part of our plan was to include the boat ride in our trip because we wanted to see the sandbar of Alcoy because we heard they have a sandbar, but you need to ride a boat to get there. So, right after our lunch, we booked a boat that can cater to a large number of passengers like us. It is hassle-free since they have a few staff who will approach you if you want to book a boat, and they will be the ones to arrange it for you. The rates may vary depending on how many passengers, and in our case, we settled on 100 pesos per pax, so not bad at all. The life vests and snorkeling gear are already included, which is very useful for us since most of us don’t know how to swim.
We really enjoyed the view while riding in the boat; this was the time when I appreciated the beauty of nature. I can see that the sea reflects the sparkling light of the sun, which gives a natural beauty to the view. The gentle waves moves against each other- creating a soothing feeling that enhanced the experience. As we go on,, the beautiful colors of sun began to paint the sky, transforming the entire landscape into a breathtaking masterpiece.The air was filled with the freshness of the ocean and the distant chirping sound of the birds, adding to the beautiful atmosphere. It was a moment of pure blessing, where time seemed to stand still, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the wonders of the world around me.
When we arrived at the site where the sandbar is.., we were welcomed by the waves and the warmth of the sun that touches our skin,. Unfortunately, we were not able to witness the sandbar because it is high tide. So, we just spent the whole time swimming and snorkeling. It was worth it because we all appreciated the marine life and lovely corals under the sea. Well, to be honest, most of us here don’t know how to swim; good thing we all have a life vest, so we still enjoyed the water activity.
This is one of the memories that I’m going to treasure forever because this was also the last moment we shared on a vacation with one of my aunts, who is no longer with us today. This was the last vacation trip where she joined us, and that makes this moment unforgettable not only because of how beautiful the place is but also because of the people involved in this journey. And this makes me appreciate every time we spend with someone because we will never know when is the last time we can see them. So it makes it worthwhile.
To those who wanted to visit this place. I will provide here some important details so you can have an idea because you might want to visit here soon.
Entrance fee:
- 20 PHP per adult, and kids are free below 12 years old.
Accommodation:
- Table and chairs: 500 PHP, good for 5 persons
- Room for rent: 2,500 PHP, good for 5 persons, and 4,000 PHP, good for 10 persons.
How to get there:
Kindly use Google Maps or Waze together with your own vehicle. You may also take a ride via bus, taxi, and other means of commute. But for us, we depart from Naga, Cebu, so it is like a 2-3 hour drive from our home to Alcoy.
