After visiting Istria in Croatia, I traveled to Tara, a beautiful mountain in western Serbia that I have already written about several times in my previous posts because I like to go there at least twice a year. 😊
But every time you go, you experience this mountain in a different way. It has many of its beautiful faces, undiscovered untouched nature that still resists the human need to urbanize every part of the planet.
It's a wonderful feeling to wake up in the morning, step out onto the terrace, and savor the fresh air and the scent of the pine forest that fills the atmosphere on Tara.
We were accommodated in a house called Tarska idila (Tara's idyll). We had a comfortable apartment at a fairly affordable price.
The house is located in a weekend settlement where there are many cottages and everything is adapted to your perfect getaway.
There is no end to the exploration of forests and meadows when you are on Tara, so you can spend hours marveling at everything you find on the way.
My children especially enjoy these walks and are real little explorers.
We encountered amazing natural landscapes and along the way saw a lot of things that caught our attention. A lonely house...
Mushrooms that are probably inedible.
And another type of mushroom. I love to eat them but I don't know them and I don't know which ones are edible.
Forest blackberries that we picked and ate along the way. They are very sweet and delicious.
And beautiful wildflowers.
When we are on Tara mountain, we love to combine hiking through the wilderness with walks along well-maintained trails. One of these is the Health trim trail, where you can exercise while you hike.
If you find yourself in western Serbia and want to experience untouched nature, Tara is sure to be an excellent choice.
Thank you for reading and exploring Tara with me.
