Yesterday, we went to Purisima Mountain View in Consolacion, Cebu, and I can't get over how amazing the experience was! It somehow felt like an adventure from the very start of our journey. Driving through the countryside roads, I couldn't help but be in awe of the lush greenery and the peaceful atmosphere that greeted us along the way. It is not every other day that one gets an opportunity to be far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and nearer to nature's beauty.
Where is Purisima Mountain View?
The site, called Purisima Mountain View, is set amidst a series of beautiful hills in Consolacion, Cebu. This residence is within driving distance of the town proper center. It would take approximately 20 to 30 minutes from the national highway to get to this place, depending on the traffic. The sereneness feels almost refreshing once you get along the hilly road and start going up. This is, in fact almost another world over here than it is down here, for it's a place of peace combined with the absence of all noisy city sounds.
How to Get There
How to get to Purisima Mountain View is not a bit inconvenient. If you have your service vehicle, that would be better; but if not, there are also options. You can take a motorcycle, commonly called a habal-habal, which is the easiest and cheapest way to reach the place. The drivers know the route very well and will take you directly to the entrance.
For those driving their own vehicles, most of the road is paved, but there are a few rough patches, especially as you approach the site. If it has rained recently, you might want to be extra careful because the roads can get a bit slippery. Either way, the journey is worth it. Make sure to keep your eyes on the road while also sneaking glances at the gorgeous views along the way!
What to Expect at Purisima Mountain View
The great views that hit me when we came out were awesome. You just have to look at the panoramic scenery, mountains stretching out in every direction. The lush greenery, cool breeze, and peace of the place overwhelmed me. This is a great spot to sit back and enjoy nature, take some photo snapshots of, or just amaze at, with many benches so that one might just sit down and regain their breath. My friends and I found a pretty good spot to cozy ourselves, and we just talked to each other, laughed our chests out, and just had all the fun possible and enjoyed our living moments with pure mountain oxygen. It was one of those moments when you feel completely present, surrounded by nothing but good company and beautiful scenery.
Of course, being a photo enthusiast, I couldn't resist taking pictures wherever we went. Purisima Mountain View is so picturesque that almost every angle seems to look like a postcard: from the wide-angle shots across the rolling hills down to close-ups of the vibrant plant life, you indeed will leave with a camera or phone full of memories.
Things to Do
- Take Photos: By far, this is the best activity. Whether you are into selfies, group shots, or artsy nature photography, this place has it all.
- Unwind in style: The serene atmosphere makes it an excellent spot to while away time doing nothing. Sit back, breathe in the fresh air, and let your cares vanish.
- More Adventurous, Explore the Trails: Take your time and head out to see the surroundings. There are small trails you can follow for a mini nature walk.
- Picnic: For those going with either family or friends, take some snacks or a packed lunch and just picnic outside as you enjoy the view. Always find out what the management can offer for food, since no outside food is allowed.
Tips for Future Visitors
To help you make the most of your visit, here are some handy tips:
- Bring Essentials: Since there is a lot that can be seen around these stores, it is considered good to pack some water or light essentials. Above all, a water bottle does become necessary, more so if the day is warm.
- Wear comfortable shoes since you are going to have to do some walking around, after all. Flip-flops are pretty much out, especially when on the trails.
- Best time to visit: early in the morning or late in the afternoon. You'll avoid midday heat and catch the golden light-perfect for photos.
- Bring a hat or sunscreen; the sun may get pretty intense, so protect yourself if visiting during the day.
- Check the Weather: It's always a good idea to check the forecast before going. While the place is still beautiful on an overcast day, when it's clear, views are much more spectacular.
- Plan Your Transpo: If you're riding a habal-habal, ask your driver if he could just wait for you or return and fetch you to avoid stranding yourself. Driving? Make sure your vehicle is ready for uphills.
- Follow the Rules: Since no outside food is allowed, make sure to respect the management’s policies. They have food available, so you won’t go hungry.
Why you should visit Purisima Mountain View?
If you are visiting Cebu for something more than the usual tourist destination, Purisima Mountain View can be a good alternative. As one of the unspoiled spots in Cebu, it is a perfect haven for every outdoor lover. Unlike bustling beaches and urban attractions, this can give you ample time to slow down and appreciate the world around you. In fact, the view itself is worth going there for.
Standing at that spot and seeing these mountains stretch into infinity is a sight that is so humbling and awesome. A place that makes you feel that, after all, you do connect with nature, even if for a little while.
Another reason to visit would be the serenity of the atmosphere: you are surrounded by nothing but the sounds of nature—rustling of leaves, chirping of birds, and the breeze passing by. This is refreshing, away from the usual city noise and chaos.
But to top it all, finally, accessibility isn't bad. Although providing quite a remote paradise feeling on the inside, the original distance to and from going closer to the town center of where you are is fairly good. You would not necessarily have to travel too far, whether you are a local or especially a tourist, to experience that exact beauty of Purisima Mountain View.
My visit to Purisima Mountain View was one for the books; it reminded me of these simple joys in life I have been neglecting or taking for granted: be it with friends, its beauty, and time taken to relax and recharge in nature. The view on top is so beautiful, the greens that you could see are just so good for the eyes. Finding peace would be easier in there, it is a good spot to unwind and relax, whether alone or woth friends and partner would be good to.
