Bugsay Public Beach is not overly crowded or commercialized, which is what I love most about it. The gentle waves and pristine shoreline give off a sense of calm, making it an ideal spot to unwind. Whether you’re sitting on the sand, dipping your toes in the water, or simply enjoying the view, there’s a sense of peace that fills the air.
Free Mushroom Cottages
One of my favorite features at Bugsay Public Beach is the Free Mushroom Cottages. These unique, mushroom-shaped huts are arranged along the shore, offering shade and comfort for visitors. I’ve spent countless moments here, chatting with friends or enjoying a packed lunch while taking in the sea breeze. And the best part? They’re free!
Bugsay Resto Grill LMPC
No beach day is complete without good food, and Bugsay Resto Grill LMPC never disappoints. Their foods is always delicious and flavorful, and they serve it with the warm hospitality that Pinamungajan is known for. It’s the perfect spot to fuel up after a morning of swimming or to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends.

Campalabo Sandbar
A short boat ride from the beach takes you to Campalabo Sandbar, and trust me, it’s worth every second. When the tide is low, this beautiful stretch of white sand emerges, surrounded by crystal-clear waters, creating a serene spot where time seems to slow down. I’ve made some of my best beach memories here—whether it’s enjoying the solitude, splashing around with friends, or snapping photos of the stunning scenery.
Located between the coastline of Pinamungajan and Negros Island, where the volcano stands mightily, occasionally spewing hazardous volcanic steam, lies this gorgeous strip of white sandbar. It’s a place many people visit in groups to swim and unwind. The Municipal Government has even built a structure on the islet for the Bantay Dagat and as a shelter for visitors, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway.
To get to Campalabo Islet, follow these steps:
Travel to Pinamungajan: Start by traveling to Pinamungajan, which you can reach by bus or car from Cebu City. Once in Pinamungajan, head to the town hall in Barangay Poblacion.
Hire a motorcycle: At the town hall, you can hire motorcycles to take you to Barangay Tajao, which is about 5.5 km away. The waters surrounding Campalabo Islet belong to Barangay Tajao.
Visit the information center: Upon reaching the jumpoff point, you’ll find an information center that provides details about the trip and collects the ecological fee.
Ride a pumpboat: From the information center, you’ll board a pumpboat for a 20-minute ride to Campalabo Islet, where you can enjoy swimming in its clear waters.
