Olah dearest Hivers! It’s been a while. ☺️ A lot has happened this past few months that took me away from this amazing community but now I’m back! Fueled with so many stories to share but I don't know where to start. Well, maybe I’ll start with the highlight of this winter break’s adventures!
As I’ve shared before, I am currently teaching here in Arizona, USA. To celebrate our Christmas/Winter break, I along with my husband and 2 friends decided to have a road trip up north to Utah, Arizona’s neighboring state.
The Road Trip
The trip was 4 hrs long from my friend’s house where we stayed overnight.
At the border area between Arizona and Utah is a vast dry land with few bushes here and there. There were also very few cattle ranches.

Of course, as we enter another state, we must always take a post to it’s welcoming sign.
Bryce Canyon National Park
Utah offers variety of landscape unique to its very own region. Nonetheless, you can always appreciate the serenity that it offers to the tourist like us. Upon arriving to the National Park entrance, we notice the place is covered with snow. Knowing that it is in an elevated area, we expected it to be colder. But it did not stop us from going in. They ask for a 35$ entrance fee per vehicle. We took some snaps on its entrance signage.
Then we headed into the Bryce view point which left me bewildered by its beauty. It is a canyon with towering pink stones and cliffs as if it was perfectly molded. Added to its bewitching beauty are those glistening ice crystals on its landscape.
The History
As we walked around the view point area, you can see a lot of tourists finding their own spots to take a picture perfect snap and remember such astounding God’s creation. Then I stumbled upon the poster that showed a quick history of its discovery. It was eventually discovered by a Scottish immigrant named Ebenezer Bryce in 1875 during the time of making a road to find timber. Hence, the canyon is named after him. Who would have thought that such discovery imprinted his name in the history.
The Experience
Though canyon offers nothing less of its beauty, however, at the time of our visit, they allowed only very few of its magnificent experiences. During my first month here in the US, it was a summertime, I was blessed to experience hiking most of its trails descending and ascending the canyon. However, due to safety purposes, the trails were closed. Nonetheless, the view itself is worth it of the long hour drive. The experience is truly amazing and seeing it in a different season is definitely one for the book.

Yes, @infinitejourney , the pink stones and cliffs make this canyon apart and distinct from the other canyons. ☺️

Im glad you love it. There is so much more that Utah can offer. There is a Zion national park and the Antelope Canyon. We targeted the Antelope canyon but it was fully booked. It is a bit stricter in their and needs a tourist guide as it is way harder to navigate. ☺️
