Odessa and the inhabitants of the city do not forget their history. On Kanatnaya, between Bolshaya and Malaya Arnautskaya, there is an amazing mural. The main acting characters of the painted work of art were: Aunt Sonya, Sholom Aleichem and Ostap Bender. That is, the very characters that are associated only with Odessa. It turns out that this is not so much just a mural as the history of the city in one drawing.
This drawing was created by the Peach studio, which is famous for having painted the largest mural in Ukraine in Odessa. It is located on Jewish street. So, the guys were able to transform the same type of fence into a work of art.
History in one picture
Sholom Aleichem lived on this very street. By the way, the founder of modern Jewish fiction in Yiddish lived in Odessa since 1891. It was in our city that he began the second stage of his creative life. It is believed that after moving to Odessa, Solomon Rabinovich becomes "a perspicacious analyst of our time." It was this outstanding person who became one of the heroes of this mural.
Aunt Sonya is the most famous folklore character in Odessa (and not only). This is a collective image. "Aunt" is the image of a simple Odessa woman, a worthy successor to Madame Storozhenko's work. If you don't remember who she is, then I'll remind you. Let's remember the story of Kataev "The lonely sail turns white." Sonya is a fisherman. Here is the Odessa Aunt Sonya. Maybe it will be possible to drop by on Privoz, I will take a few photos of the monument to Aunt Sonya and write a separate article.
Ostap Bender! Well, I think it's a household name. I don't think I can find a man who doesn't know who Ostap Bender is! Although, if you are interested, I can tell for Ostap a separate material.
Sailor. Well, it’s not even worth talking about the image of a sailor in Odessa. Enough to walk around the city! In addition, you can listen to a lot of cool songs for Odessa and remember the same Kostya Sailor.
So, as you can see, this mural can really be considered a real work of art. Moreover, not a simple picture, but a tour of the history of the city. You can plunge into the past and really enjoy the uniqueness of Odessa folklore. Yes, the history of the city is unique and unrepeatable.
