In 2018, I got an offer to work as a network engineer at an event organized by the state high school of accounting (STAN). At that time, STAN will hold exams throughout Indonesia to become a student at the university. The exam locations are distributed in every state treasury service office (KPPN) throughout Indonesia. It so happened that I was assigned to the Lombok archipelago, to be precise in the city of Mataram. This was my first experience working outside Java, my first experience was also on a plane.
I was assigned for 2 weeks there. The first week was very tiring, because I had to create a network topology in a large hall so that I could connect to 130 computers. Then, I had to configure the test server with those computers. I finished the work in 3 days, the rest I just watched the exam run. If there is a problem with the computer during the exam, I have to fix it immediately. Ohya, there I work not alone. There are 3 of my friends who also got the same task.
When we arrived in Mataram city, we were warmly welcomed by someone who is in charge of our work at the Mataram KPPN office, his name is Mr. Doni. He is a person who in my opinion is very instrumental in guiding us to know tourist attractions in the Lombok archipelago. After our work was finished in the first week, Mr. Doni immediately took us to a beach whose name was displayed at the Lombok International airport, West Nusa Tenggara. The beach is called Mawun beach.
We took about an hour's journey from Mataram city to Mawun beach. I still remember the words of Mr. Doni, "Lombok island is surrounded by many beaches, and the distance is not too far from the city of Mataram." It's actually quite far, but because the traffic is not heavy there, it feels close.
I haven't arrived at the beach yet, my tiredness has been cured by the beautiful natural scenery of Lombok and the fresh air. There the sun is quite hot, but it feels refreshing because maybe the level of pollution is a little. In contrast to the island of Java, it is very densely populated and the level of pollution is quite high. That is, if you visit the island of Lombok, your lungs will smile. When we arrived at Mawun beach, I was presented with a view of the beach that spoiled the eyes. Without much warning, I immediately ran towards the sea water. Really clear water. At that time there were not many visitors who came. If I remember, I felt like I wanted to build a foundation on the coast, then build a house and breed there. Making friends with the turtle family is not a bad thing.
Lombok Island is also known as the island of a thousand mosques. So, at that time, I stupidly asked Mr. Doni, "why is the mosque so close here?" Pak Doni replied, "Yes, Lombok is known as the island of a thousand mosques. People here like to compete to build a good mosque."

That's the short story of my trip to be able to enjoy the beauty of Mawun beach on the island of Lombok. I actually have a lot of memories there. Maybe I'll tell you another time.
Have a nice day!
