This 'Klėtelė' is located a few kilometers away from the town of Lenkimai. Word 'klėtelė' is just one of the old ways to say 'little barn'. This particular one is quite special as it used to be a part of now dilapidated homestead, which belonged to the parents of famous Lithuanian historian, writer and educator Simonas Daukantas. Simonas was born in 1793, so you can easily immagine how old this piece of architecture is.

The video was made last summer. I was asked to do it by my mother, which is responsible for the tourism development in this particular area. Klėtelė may be easily reached by bicycle or even by foot if hiking is what you prefer. However, it is better to come here during the summer season as winters in Lithuania might be hash and snowy.

Taking an interest in the roots of our ancestry for us Lithuanians looks like a must. Most of that wisdom lies not in books, but in ancient dances, proverbs and songs, patterns and symbols that are found in traditional handicrafts. This is one of the reasons why I love dancing so much, Lithuanian folk dances in particular.

My daugter is 1 year and 9 months old now. All the months we full of wonderful experiences, but it feels geat to have some more time for traveling and dancing. As you and me have already virtualy traveled to the world of Sunshine and Lithuanian wooden architecture, I would like to invite you to another world. A world of Lithuanian folk music and dancing. Can you find me in this video?
