Hello Hivers
Welcome to the spectacular Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada.
Just outside of the town of Banff, is Cascade Ponds, a nice picnic area, nestled in the Rocky Mountains. With numerous picnic tables, firepits, washrooms and some walking trails that wind around the ponds.
The pics were taken today, and in late April, the ponds are still frozen, depending on how they are situated and how much sunlight they receive.
Cascade Mountain towers over the ponds and a small waterfall could be spotted up the mountain which feeds the ponds.
There are on average 4 million visitors to Banff every year, so locations like this I like to enjoy them during the slow season, because during Summer when kids are out of school and many people are on holidays, this are would be jammed with people.
It's an enjoyable stop while travelling to stretch your legs, have lunch or just take a short stroll and relax. Many trails in the area are demanding and not accessible to everyone, but this little scenic area is suitable for most people.
Thanks for coming along to Cascade Ponds, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.
