Hampton Court is an amazing palace, and the gardens are quite spectacular as well and deserving of their own posting.
There are 60 acres of gardens and 750 acres of historic.....

The pond gardens were originally fish ponds, installed for Henry VIII, and in 1690 Queen Mary had them changed to sunken gardens for her plant collection.
Most Monarchs made changes to suit themselves but the gardens have been maintained since ....

The privy garden has been restored to what it looked like in 1702, due to the large amount of documentation found regarding the garden. The Monarch William III passed away before completion so the workmen......

were worried about being paid, all made very detailed accounts of their work.
A full day can be spent just in the gardens, with numerous walking paths, benches, fountains, there is even a deer herd.
I was focused on the palace and didn't realise the gardens were so expansive or i would of....
allowed for an extra half day to explore the outside grounds.
