Liard Hot Springs
The nicest hot springs I have been to!
Located in Northern British Columbia, Canada, within the boundary of a Provincial Park.
An entrance fee of $5 per person is a bargain, and a great place to stop while travelling the Alaska Highway.
Originally the Sikanni, Dogrib and Nahanni Native people used this area, mostly for hunting moose, as moose are constantly looking for minerals, which are provided in abundance by the hotsprings.

1835 by Robert Campbell of the Hudson’s Bay Company, as the arrival of settlers in search of beaver pelts and other fur to supply the demand in Europe.
With the outbreak of WW2, and the need to build a highway to supply Alaska, this region saw an increase in visitors, other then the odd trapper, or gold seeker.
This hotspring is different then most, the warm water floods an area and is called a warm water swamp. Thus a micro eco system is a unique vegetative community, with many species of orchids and a number of carnivorous plants, due in part to the low nitrogen level of the water.
