yes, the winters are sometimes really cold in central and northern europe, so camping wouldn't be for me either ;) and you're probably even tougher there... respect.. nice that it was the right decision.. i think italy is one of them most beautiful countries in the world :)

I'd say winter camping is about having the right equipment. Depending on the organization it can be super dupper cozy. Just not when you are cycling everyday on muddy forests, without a shower, and having to deal with hunters shooting during the night \o\
Italy is indeed superb. I wish to go there again to search for my Italian roots.
