Japan in My Eyes🇯🇵💙: Swan and Tragic Story of Akou Castle!😊

in Worldmappin2 days ago

😊Dear friends and subscribers:
Today I visited the ruins of Akou Castle in Hyogo Prefecture (Japan)

Akou Castle was built by Naganao Asano in 1661 during the Edo Period. The Asano family flourished for three generations as the castle's owners.

However, Naganori Asano (the grandson of Naganao Asano) was sentenced to death by the Tokugawa shogunate (the government during the Edo Period) and committed seppuku to take responsibility for his failure to defeat Kōzukenosuke Kira. After the seppuku incident, Naganori's loyal 47 retainers avenged him by defeating Kōzukenosuke Kira and restoring their master's honor.

After the original family lost ownership, the castle was soon reduced to ruins. Today, what remains are some of the original stone walls and two beautiful Japanese gardens, which are recognized as national heritage sites.

I almost forgot to tell you—I love feeding a swan that lives on the pond near the ruins. It’s very, very friendly. When I gave it some food (actually, bread) today, it was so tranquil. But the other day, when I brought food to the swan, it attacked the ducks, as if to say, "These humans want to give me food, not you. Get lost!" XD

While I was enjoying feeding the swan, some kids from a foreign country (I guess India or Nepal) came over, and I shared some bread with them so they could also feed the swan." They got so excited.

These are amazing photos, everything looks so beautiful, full of colors that match. But I think what I like most about the places in Japan is their history, everything has an interesting and quite old history. Although this time the swan completely took my attention.

Thank you for sharing this little piece of the world with me 🤗.

What a wonderful place! I would love to visit Japan ❤️
