in Worldmappinlast year

Greetings friends of HIVE

The second day after packing our bags, what we did was look for a place to have breakfast. We headed out of town and had breakfast at an inn that was right there. Normally in Andalusia, in the mountain towns, they usually have a very rich breakfast, both the bread and what you put on it are usually products of the land or the surroundings.

The site was in the middle of a cycle route. For those of you who don't know, it is a clay circuit where there are several paths, some longer and others shorter that go around an area in a circle and people come to ride their bikes, whether they are professionals or simply families with their children. We stopped to take a curious photo and there is a warehouse right there where they rent bikes and it has a lot of pictures of old bikes painted in colors and placed in the middle. It certainly adds a colorful tone to the place.

For the second day we decided to visit Cabra, a town near Zuheros that is located between the cities of Cordoba and Malaga that took us on the way back and that we had read that it was very beautiful.

👉Here 👈I leave you the location.

Upon reaching the town we found an old town full of houses painted white with lime and full of life, typical of any Andalusian town, it was Sunday and there were people everywhere, some going to mass, others walking with their children, etc. .

Near where we were located we find the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption and Angels. They were giving mass and we decided to go in to visit her. The truth is that it was not very surprising, the church inside is wonderful, all painted white with some columns in the center of brown marble, a beautiful old green organ (I imagine that the color is due to the oxidation of the copper). and a wooden altar with two incredible angels on the sides.

When we left we continued our march to continue discovering the town and we found the ruins of a castle that barely kept part of one of its towers standing but with incredible views of the entire mountain range.

Next to the ruins of the castle we find this fountain that emanates from the facades of the building of the town and with three rather fresh constant water outlets. This water is drinkable since it comes from the mountains and is used to cool off during hot summer days.

We went to ask the information point of the town that took us very close to orient ourselves to a place to eat and other places that we could see and it caught our attention that when we entered they had on the door as a souvenir some stone plates with the names of the streets, this was the way they used to signal the name of the roads. The names of the streets are carved in the stone and were hung on the facades of the houses with cement to support their weight.

Throughout the town center we realized that it was full of fountains, which is strange since Andalusia is currently going through its worst water crisis, due to climate change we have in many towns even with supply cuts in fountains and lakes, but this town, being in the mountains, does not need a supply since the water from its sources comes directly from the mountain.

After eating in the town, we decided to take a walk along a route that we found on the internet, it is a linear route that leaves from a point in the town and ends in an abandoned train station from when the railway existed in that town. Today it is abandoned and it is only used for tourists to take pictures, hehehehe.

When we arrived at the station we found two old locomotives, the truth is that the state of conservation it is in is a shame, but I had a great time getting into the wagons.

The site is called ¨Oil Train Interpretation Center¨ and this is because this train was the one that made the route through Cabra to transport the oil that was extracted from the olive groves that were in this area.

I don't know if you know, but Andalusia is one of the first producers of Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Designation of Origin in Europe.

Back towards the town we found a tree that caught my attention and that is that it is a deciduous tree and due to the season of the year in which we are, it was completely bare, also, if we mentally split it into two parts in half , makes an almost symmetrical figure. This next to the blue sky made a pretty nice contrast. #

What do you think?

When we got to the car we left for the last destination, which was a children's park where we had planned to have a drink before heading back home, but when we arrived we found that in addition to having typical swings in children's parks, there were several statues of Disney drawings. life-size for children to take photos with their favorite animated characters. These are some of the statues that were in the area.

We got back in the car after that rest and we started the return trip that lasted approximately two hours to where we live.

I hope you liked this weekend where my girl and I met another destination.

Thanks for reading
