Hi @pinmapple community! I am new to Hive so I’ve been spending my time exploring different communities, reading and engaging with posts and trying to learn about each so I have an idea of what (if any) I can contribute.
Since my family and I are heading to Japan soon, I got inspired to introduce myself here as a form of countdown/travel history.
Traveling has always been my top activity I love to do, tied with eating. As such, my ultimate dream is to get to eat and drink around the world. Ambitious, I know. But hey, when I dream, I dream BIG!
The place I currently reside in is a travel destination all on its own. I live with my family in Hawaii and we’ve been here for a little over 6 years so we’ve definitely made the most out of exploring our wonderful surroundings as best we can.

Did you know that Hawaii is the most geographically isolated place on earth?!?
Well, now you do. At least, that is what I’ve been told. This is good in the sense of getting to live in paradise, but not so good for travel and cost of goods. We call it, living on a rock. Hawaii is of course known for its gorgeous beaches, warm, swimmable waters, varied hiking trails with stunning views, and it’s hospitality. It also has pretty consistent temperatures year round and, being close to Asia and being in Pacific waters, it truly is a melting pot of cultures, traditions, and food.

Before you come to visit, ask a local about what are the best places to go to. There are unfortunately a ton of tourist traps here that don’t really show the island’s true beauty. The first time I visited, I had no idea what I was doing and had a very underwhelming experience. So, make sure you are informed, as with any travel destination, of the true treasures the place has to offer.
That’s it for now. Thank you for reading!
Hawai'i is indeed a truly amazing place, with each Island being so different one from the other. I live out in the jungle on the eastern tip of the Big Island, and the it is as beautiful as is challenging. The essence of this part of the Big Island is intense, wild, and raw. I've been steeping in that for almost five years now. I'm not at all the same human I was when I first arrived here!
We exist in a safe bubble out here, due to living in one of the most volcanically active places on Earth, so governmental agencies or corporations won't spend money on infrastructure here that could be destroyed at any time. Due to that, they have very little reach here, and people live the way they want.
You seem to be diving to exploring the potentials of Hive quite well! Congratulations on that! I hope that your trip to Japan flows easefully and in a beautiful way! Happy weekend! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Thank you! Nice to see someone from the same area, although your area sounds vastly different from mine. Part of the charm of Hawaii! Yes we are very excited for the trip and I am sure I’d be able to find a lot more inspiration there. I appreciate the warm welcome!
You're most welcome! I appreciated that too! Yes, this area of Hawai'i, and where I live specifically, is indeed vastly different from what most know. Indeed it is! There is so much diversity in these exquisite Islands! Japan is another group of very beautiful islands, and I'm sure you will find quite a lot of inspiration there! Absolutely! Hive is a truly amazing, life-changing place, and I want those newly arriving to be able to orient well to all it has to offer! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Yay! You actually made me jealous. I really want to visit that country. But for now, it's still a dream of mine for I don't have money to pack my things and go there. Hahaha.
Anyways, thanks for the virtual tour. Nice meeting you. :-)
Thank you! I’m sure you’ll get there one day, if you can dream it, you can achieve it!
These are awesome pictures to give people just a glimpse of the beauty of Hawaii. I hope you take a lot of pictures in Japan, so you can share it here as well. I look forward to more of your posts.
Thank you @outwars! I will try my best! I am very excited to go and explore, even more so now that I have somewhere broader to share them with! Appreciate your feedback!
