Hello everyone!
We lucked out during our trip and we caught the cherry blossoms in full bloom. I went a bit photo-crazy but overall, we had a lot of fun. I will be posting separate things but just wanted to map out our trip on here.
Our first few days were spent in Tokyo, eating our way around the different towns. Public transportation in Japan as a whole can be very daunting, but once you get the hang of it, it’s actually really awesome. It felt like we spent half the time in trains and towards the end, I felt like I subconsciously became pretty oriented with how the whole system works. The apps always help of course.
Ueno park was beautifully lit up at night. We came a bit too late so there were no longer any vendors but it was nice that it wasn’t extremely crowded. As the pictures show, we caught the end of the sakura bloom with the trees looking more sparse but still magical. We also went to Mt. Takao and ate at a very nice restaurant with exceptional food. (Watch out for that blog on @foodiesbeehive!) that’s where we got the spectacular top views of the sakura on the mountains.
Finally, we went to TeamLab where we were treated to a dizzying array of interactive art installations playing with all 5 senses. It was fun, but a lot more difficult to take pictures of conceptually.
After Tokyo, we headed to Kyoto for more Cherry Blossoms (in full bloom) including the whole eating and drinking under the trees experience, Nara with the deer that bow when you feed them crackers, and then to Kobe and had a “sake crawl”.
The next leg saw us in Osaka where I wanted go for all the street food and seafood. We also were able to see the Osaka Castle with insanely beautiful sakura in full bloom before spending the last week of our trip in Tokyo Disney and DisneySea. They were coincidentally celebrating their 40th anniversary while we were there so we got ahold of some very cool exclusive swag #disneyadultsforthewin
All in all, it was a fun, hectic, very exhausting, but memorable trip. Oh, and we all got sick after but #worthit!
But, I am back and ready to share in more of our trip and other adventures!
These are wonderful pictures. I can't wait to read your posts about the places you went to, and what you did. As for these photos, they look incredible. I love the artistic touch you did with the long shot of the Castle behind the Sakura petals.
Thanks @outwars! I’m excited to share them too, but I have quite a bit of photos to wade through.lol
That's ok. Take your time, and you don't have to put everything in one post.
