We took a vacation from our winter wonderland earlier this month, and had a nice break to warmer weather. Our trip was to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Pretty near the most southern tip of Baja. Or as most people just call it, Cabo. We actually stayed just NorthEast of there in San Jose Del Cabo at Secrets resort.
Weather was a nice 80-85 degrees all week we were there.
There were a couple minor disappointments on the trip. First I found out a week before the trip that Mexico does not allow drone flights there. Well, not unless you've got a Mexican drone license, and you have to be a resident to obtain one. Bummer, so the drone stayed home this trip. Second, there was no swimming on the beach where our resort was due to dangerous currents and waves.
We were able to walk on the beach and wade a bit. It was kind of cool to have the larger waves pounding in. Hard to tell from the pics/videos, but some of these were 6-10ft high. Even just wading in a bit, the power of the waves pulling back was amazingly strong.
I did enjoy taking these pics and video with the GoPro and walking the beach. Some of the areas like you'll see towards the end had this marble colored sand, with a lot of black sand mixed in. It was a very different texture and cool to see.
On other days, we took out a glass bottom boat, and a sailboat to calmer areas for snorkeling, but that's a different post that will be coming soon!
Here's the video with the wave sound.
I hope this post warms up some you folks in colder weather. We came home to 6 inches of snow on the ground and zero degrees, quite a chilly welcome, but good to be home and enjoying a white Xmas.
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
Haven't been to the beach in ages... these helped! :)
Glad I could give you a taste!
Nice waves, nice beach. Like the uniformity of the wave. Ocean looked calm until the wave appears and smacks the beach. 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🏖🏖🏖🏖🏖🏖
Thanks, it did look calm enough to swim in, but wow the power of those waves combined with the quick drop I'm sure dangerous for most folks.
