If you're in Valencia, Venezuela, or planning to visit, I recommend a small spot in the city center. People often think there's not much to see, but there actually is.
Today, I'm talking about an antique shop near the iconic Casa Páez.
If you love historical souvenirs, this antique shop is a must-visit. You'll find books, magazines, clocks, paintings, radios, typewriters, records, musical instruments, toys, sculptures, and more.
You need time to find valuable items, but ones truly meaningful to collectors.
As for the books, there's everything from classic literature to informative and educational volumes, all in very good condition.
Many are priced at $1. And when I say many, I'm not exaggerating. Some items are more expensive, like 1950s clocks in good condition.
This place has been in the city center for as long as I can remember, though it has changed a bit. It used to be much smaller and sold fewer items. In fact, it only sold books initially, but it has gradually expanded.
In this part of the city, many old places have endured despite the challenges of a complex political and economic climate.
However, they remain strongly embedded not just in the memory of the locals, but in the present. I recommend you stop by and take at least one book home because you'll likely find what you're looking for.

Si estás en Valencia, Venezuela, o piensas ir a esta ciudad, te recomiendo un pequeño lugar en el Centro, donde generalmente uno cree que no hay muchos sitios por visitar, pero en realidad sí los hay.
Hoy te voy a hablar de una tienda de antigüedades que está cerca de la icónica Casa Páez, un museo que hace más de 200 años perteneció al prócer de la independencia del imperio español, José Antonio Páez (pronto haré otro post acerca de este sitio).
Si eres amante de los souvenirs con historia, entonces la tienda de antigüedades es una opción que no debes pasar por alto.
Allí encontrarás libros, revistas, relojes, cuadros, radios, máquinas de escribir, discos, instrumentos musicales, juguetes, esculturas, entre otras cosas.
Hay que tener tiempo para encontrar objetos valiosos (no literalmente), pero que realmente son significativos para coleccionistas.
En el caso de los libros, hay, de todo, desde la literatura clásica, como otros ejemplares informativos y educativos y que están en muy buenas condiciones. Muchos cuestan $1. Y cuando digo muchos, no estoy exagerando.
Hay otras cosas que son más costosas, como los relojes de los años 50, que están en buenas condiciones. U otros más baratos que no funcionan, pero que son ornamentales.
Este lugar desde que tengo memoria ha estado en Centro de la ciudad, pero ha cambiado un poco. Antes era mucho más pequeño y vendían menos cosas. De hecho, solo vendían libros, pero poco a poco se ha ido expandiendo.
En esta parte de la ciudad hay muchos lugares viejos que se han mantenido en medio de los desafíos de un clima político y económico complicado.
Sin embargo, permanecen fuertemente no solo en la memoria de los habitantes, sino en el presente.
Te recomiendo pasar por allí y llevarte al menos libro, porque seguramente lo que busques lo encontrarás.

Classic stores always have this vibe about them and certainly a great place to also learn about a country's culture. You did a great find here.
Wow! si que hay objetos para ver y coleccionar, la lámpara amarilla es curiosa, se parece a las tinajas, tenía tiempo sin ver las máquinas de escribir, recuerdo mi época de estudiante en la escuela, habían varias.
