ENGLISH

A few years ago, I used to go to the mountains alone or with friends. It was an activity I discovered out of nowhere, and from the first time I did it, I loved it. But little by little, I lost the habit, mostly due to laziness, and because I haven't been training properly for about six months.

However, it doesn't mean I'm completely sedentary. Luckily, I ride my bike when I go out to take photos, and this makes me realize that I haven't completely lost my physical condition.

I was convinced after a friend invited me to hike up Cerro Tazajal, located in Naguanagua, Venezuela.

I took my camera because it's been a while since I last took landscape photos; I usually do urban photography.

Cerro Tazajal is an ideal place to exercise. In fact, as you climb, you'll see people jogging and going up repeatedly while you are just beginning and already feeling the fatigue.

But it's not extremely difficult. You can talk, joke, and gossip as you go up.

It's that easy.

It's one of the most popular spots in the city, and in my opinion, it's perfect for exercising and also for having an encounter with nature without it being a major survival challenge.

A few meters down, you encounter the bustling city noise, but once you're up, you hear the sound of silence and feel the wind refreshing your face.

During the hike, I was chatting with my friend about music, old friends, anecdotes, and dark humor.

We quickly reached the first viewpoint, where you have a view of Naguanagua, its green areas, and the surrounding mountains.

We sat for a while, resting, contemplating the surroundings, and I took out my camera to capture the beautiful landscape that the sunset provided.

The moon was already rising, and the weather was getting colder.

I love how the last moments of the sun touch the plants and create a soft texture.

At that time, hikers and BMX cyclists are still climbing.

Although I couldn't take photos of them because it was late and my camera isn't great in low light. However, I managed to take a couple of photos of the moon and then one of him.

I wanted a photo, but he isn't a photographer and doesn't know how to use the camera, so I set it up for him to just press the button. After several attempts, he managed to get a portrait that I really like.

Then we descended when night fell. We used the flashlights from our cell phones and slowly made our way down to the starting point.

I hope to hike more next year because it's an activity I really enjoy, despite sometimes being lazy.

If you're in Valencia, Venezuela, you must hike this hill if you're into sports and nature.
