After experiencing the beautiful city of Fes, we headed to the Merzouga, a small village in the Sahara desert. It was an exhausting and long bus ride, but we happily made it there. It was 5 am when we came so we headed to our accommodation and immediately fell asleep.
The next morning, we ate a delicious Moroccan traditional breakfast and then spoke with the accommodation owner who told us everything about the tours in the desert. We took a tour for 130 euros for two and it included many things: a crazy ride through the desert with a 4x4 car while visiting one village, nomads and an area with lots of fossils, 1-hour camel ride to the camp in the heart of the desert, sleeping in the camp and experiencing Berber lifestyle, dinner and breakfast, sandboarding and 1-hour camel ride back. It was so crazy to experience all of this and I just can't describe how happy we were. I will show you some photos we took on our journey in the desert and share our impression and stories. Enjoy!
We were mesmerized by the sights as we drove through the desert. This was our first time seeing the desert and it felt like a dream.
After a morning ride through the desert, we came back to our accommodation for a lunch and take our time to prepare for the rest of the day.
After lunch, we headed to the heart of the desert with camels who were waiting for us. This was our first time riding a camel and it was quite an experience. Every one of them has a unique character, some are lazy, some stubborn, but they are all very beautiful animals.
After the beautiful sunset and dinner in the camp, we got together around the fire and Berbers played drums and sang all night. It was just the perfect end of the day.
Until next time!☺️
Morocco is really one of the place I want to visit one day. The sahara desert looks amazing, also the lunch you add looks yummi. What is this?
I hope you'll visit it some day, it's a special country. Sahara is amazing, I felt like I was dreaming.
Lunch we ate was some tomato sauce with eggs on top and you eat it with bread. It was very delicious, like everything we ate in Morocco. :)
This looks a lot like living in a world in its own life. That hard travel looks def. worth it.
