Hello my wonderful Hive family! I hope you are having a great time doing the things you love. For me the weather here is very hot and we all know that the best thing you can do in hot weather is head towards the sea.
And that's exactly what the family friend couple did several years ago. The couple lives in an inland city where the temperatures are very high, so they decided to pay a visit to us since our two coastal cities have nicer weather and also the sea, which is the main reason for their visit!
When they came, we welcomed them and their beautiful baby girl, had breakfast at home, and my brother and I decided to take them to a nice island nearby. Arwad Island!
Arwad Island is a small island full of locals who live in old houses of stone considered semi-archaeological. Most of the island's residents own boats, they are fishermen since birth. Most of them live by fishing and selling fish. They are very good at preparing fish dishes, not just fishing.
Indeed, after a short rest after breakfast, we headed towards the beach.
When we arrived, we saw a large number of boats, so we chose one of them, not on appointment, and we rode with him to reach the island.
I've been on a boat several times before so it's familiar to me yet I enjoy every time I get on a boat and it's in the sea and the water surrounds me from all sides, but it was the first time for the wife as well as for her child, the mother was afraid at first but as the boat progressed The water forgot her fear and began to listen to the breezes of the fresh air and the sight of the water and the boat making its way through it.
The child was very happy and was not afraid. On the contrary, she was saying incomprehensible words and smiling with young years and waving her hands trying to touch the water.
During our boat trip my brother and I sat on the side of the boat and took pictures of our feet in the water lol I was afraid to fall but my brother held me tight.
We encountered many commercial ships on our way, bringing goods to the port and taking other goods. It is a continuous process of coming and going. The same applies to boats. There are a huge number of them that work just as transportation as buses.
When we arrived on the island, we walked in a narrow road full of souvenir shops, they make or decorate everything from seashells, cups and plates, as well as boxes, accessories and pendants for keys, seashells are included in everything, you can buy some of them at a cheap price to remain a souvenir from the island and the beautiful thing is that they are all handmade.
We continued our way between the popular shops towards the castle! I forgot to tell you that although it is a small island, there is an ancient war castle in its center. The castle is a large wall with a partition inside, and in the middle of it there is a garden. Over time, it became a tourist attraction.
I love these archaeological areas and I love the view of the ancient stones, how they withstood through time to reach us in this way, it is really impressive.
We took some pictures with the walls of the castle because I could not find a corner that shows the whole hall. Anyway I saw a big anchor in the middle and couldn't stop myself from taking a picture with it lol.
When we finished our tour of the castle, we decided to head back to the beach for lunch.
All restaurants here serve fish! All kinds of fish are competing with each other on the way to prepare it and the innovative recipes for cooking it. We chose a random restaurant, and we ordered several types of fish. We wanted to try everything, fried fish, grilled and oven-baked, and the most delicious fish with hot sauce.
You sit in the restaurant, the sea and the boats in front of you so that you can feed the fish while you are sitting. Well it was a good experience and the dishes were very tasty. So in my area, they say if you want to eat fish, you need an Iruwadi chef.
After we finished lunch we got on the boat again to go back to the city, I can say that the return trip was nicer because the sun started to set and the weather became nicer.
We decided to sit on the beach for more time, where we ordered coffee and sat watching the sunset, while the little girl and her mother decided to play a little with the sea water and sand.
I can tell you it was a very beautiful day, the couple had the best time and enjoyed the boat trip, the view of the sea and the island and of course they ate fish that they will never forget in their lives.
