My buddy and I headed to Yellow Trail located at Camp John Hay here in Baguio City. This is our go-to whenever we feel the need for a quick dose of happy hormones - forest bathing.

Birthday blues, stress of work, stress of no work, family concerns - the list can go on and on but we forget that when we go for a walk. We just have to shake it off to keep sane.

I was hoping to see lots of flowers for that was my going theme for today's #WednesdayWalk, which is hosted by @tattoodjay. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how one will view it, there were only a few in bloom. We are at the end days of cold and dry days and we are about to enter hot and dry months. Therefore, not a lot of flowers can be seen.

It was the white wild flower that carpeted the trails and forest floor. Also, coffee trees scattered near the entrance/exit are flowering.

Check out this video taken during our walk along Yellow Trail.

Once we started walking, my plan to photograph flowers only was quickly forgotten. I just missed walking. I haven't pursued my walking regimen since the beginning of the year. There were some walks here and there but only a few. The last hike I had was with family at the beginning of the year and none since after that. Thus, my feet found their familiar ground when we were on the trail. Happy feet! I was dancing in my mind.

Nature is full of contrast. It is noticeable that things are starting to dry up because we haven't had rainy days. Still, there are things that are starting to grow as well. It's about birth, death and rebirth. It's a cycle.

We met a few trailers as well and everybody is in a cheery mood, exchanging greetings and a smile. One couple had a dog with them. I held out the back of my hand for the dog to sniff and then it stood on its two hind feet and pawed me. I find that cute! A few minutes later it occurred to me that maybe the dog wanted to be carried and was asking me to carry it.

The trail is now off-limits to bikers. Also, there are now markers pointing to the different trails. There are intertwining trails along the yellow trail and one or two that exit to a barangay. We have followed that once before when we were trying out other trails. There are other trails that we have yet to explore but every trail is easy.

When we were at a crossroads, we heard a rowdy group up ahead. Their voices and laughter carried through the air so we avoided them and headed to a detour where I have been climbing a particular tree whenever I feel like it and of course, took photos as you can see in the first photo.

After finishing the almost 5-kilometer trail, I have had a clearer mind and a happier mood. We could have walked faster than an hour but we enjoyed our time listening to nature, the song of birds, the whisper of wind through the leaves, the crunch of the ground, the feel of freshness, the sight of nature - color, contrast, play of light and shadows.

Climbing on a tree is something that I haven't done for many years since I gave birth through C-section. It seems that I cannot climb a tree now which is so opposite when I was still a child. Climbing a tree is something I love when I was a child. Missing those moment being up above.

I'm not fond of climbing ever since I had an accident when I was a kid but this particular tree is like a challenge to me that seems to be getting tougher as I get older lol!

its been a while since I did a nature walk so this post i loved all the gorgeous beauty and detailsof nature
