This destination in Western Australia is truly an iconic natural landmark. This was our second last destination before we headed back to Perth from Esperance back in December. It took us around a drive of 4 hour and 15 minutes (383 km) with occasional stops for a short break along the way. From here, the same amount of time to reach back to Perth. It was quite a hot day here because this place in in outback of Western Australia, far from major cities and oceans. Flies were roaming around and irritating us on the top of that weather.

This natural wonder is located in Hyden, a picturesque town in Wheatbelt region where you can see rolling farmlands during your trip. The rock has been formed from billion of years ago due to continuous erosion and weathering and the shape of the rock is like a wave formed by these distinct natural phenomenon. You can see clearly how it resonates to the waves formed in the ocean. Its a classic example of how ancient granite rocks is preserved greatly adhering to the local stories of local Aboriginal community. So it holds a cultural as well as spiritual significance in the Noongar tribe.

The height of the wave rock is about 15 meters and stretches about 110 meters. There's lot of things to do around here. Its a great spot for picnic and BBQ. It got a nice walking trail as well. Since we need to head back to Perth, we only made to this spot. If you climb above the rock, you get to enjoy the landscape beauty of the Wheatbelt town, a beautiful Hyden dam. If you walk a little further bit there is a stone which is best for viewing sunset and milky way galaxy at night where the sky is clear and best for getting the view with naked eyes.
