During my visit to London, I could not miss Kensington Palace. I really wanted to see the place where the future King of Britain, Prince William, lived with his wife Kate and their children. I am glad that I managed to make this dream come true and today I can tell you a little more.
При посещението си в Лондон нямаше как да пропусна дворецът Кенсингтън. Много исках да видя мястото, където живее бъдещият крал на Великобритания принц Уилям заедно със съпругата си Кейт и децата им. Радвам се, че успях да осъществя тази мечта и днес мога да ви разкажа малко повече.
The palace is located in the Kensington Gardens next to Hyde Park and is extremely easy to get to. It is most convenient to use the subway. There are several stops where you can get off, walk through the amazing gardens and reach the palace. The nearest stop is Queensway but there are other options as South Kensington, Lancaster gate and other. We stoped at South Kensington. From there we rented bikes, which are great. For only 2 pounds you can take a bike for the whole day and go around everywhere. So we were able to see most of the gardens (they are really very large).

Entering the park from Imperial College, we first came across the Albert Memorial Statue. Prince Albert is the husband and great love of Queen Victoria. Unfortunately, he died very young, only 42 years old from typhoid fever. I have heard that the queen never manages to overcome the grief and sorrow of losing her beloved and wears only black clothes for the rest of her life. Several years after his death, this monument was built in his honor. The monument itself is made in Gothic style and is over 50 meters high.

In a few minutes we reached the palace itself. It has been the residence of the royal family for four centuries. The building is not very large and impressive compared to other royal residences, but it is very beautiful. More gold ornaments on the entrance gates create the feeling of grandeur. In addition to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Kate), the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke and Duchess of Kent also live there. It is really a feeling for the future and a look with the hope that these young people will bring better times.

Directly opposite the palace there is a lake, which is very beautiful. It is full of swans and ducks that swim back and forth and play. The place is great, the view is unique and for sure if I lived in London I would often walk there. Especially if the weather allows and it is not too windy, it will be unique just to sit on a bench, read a book and admire the view.

Right in front of the palace stands an incredibly beautiful statue of Queen Victoria made of white marble. We learned that it was made by one of the monarch's daughters in honor of her golden jubilee on the throne. The Queen is one of the greatest and most influential monarchs not only in English but in world history. But this is not the only reason to create the statue in this place. There is more symbolism in the idea. Victoria was born in Kensington Palace and spent most of her life there before ascending the throne.

Then we visited one of the most important places near the palace - the Princess Diana Memorial Gardens. As I guess you all know, Princess Diana lived there for about 15 years from the time of her marriage to Prince Charles almost until her death in the late 1990s. These gardens were her favorite place for walks and solitude. There she found peace and tranquility.

At the entrance to the gardens there is a sign that makes us remember the princess. And in 2021, in honor of the 60th anniversary of her birth, a statue was made with a very kind and emotional poem. I admire this woman very much and the visit to this place was extremely emotional.
Още на входа на градините има табелката, която ни кара да си спомним за принцесата. А през 2021 в чест на 60 години от раждането и е направена статуя на която е вградена много мила и прочувствена поема. Аз изключително много се възхищавам на тази жена и посещението на това място беше изключително емоционално.
A few years ago, the gardens were renovated and thousands of hours of work paid off. Everywhere is full of the princess's favorite flowers. Hundreds of tulips, roses, lavenders and dahlias can be seen. The place is really one of the most beautiful I have visited. There is a serenity and peace that I have not experienced in many other places. I can only imagine Princess Diana walking around here and spending her time. An interesting fact is that right here a few years ago Prince Harry, one of Diana's sons, announced his engagement. Isn't this an inseparable emotional connection with his late mother ....
Преди няколко години градините са реновирани и хилядите часове труд са дали своя резултат. Навсякъде е пълно с любимите цветя на принцесата. Виждат се стотици лалета, рози, лавандули и далии. Мястото е наистина едно от най-красивите, които съм посещавала. Там цари едно спокойствие и мир, което не съм изпитвала на много други места. Само мога да си представя как принцеса Даяна се е разхождала тук и е прекарвала времето си. Интересен факт е, че точно тук преди няколко години принц Хари, един от синовете на Даяна, обявява годежа си. Не е ли това една неразделна емоционална връзка с вече покойната му майка ....
