World's Tallest Filing Cabinet
Did you even know there was such a thing? I didn't either. The World's Tallest Filing Cabinet is an art structure in Burlington, Vermont. It was created by a man named Bren Alvarez and it is a sculptural statement inspired by years of paperwork he accumulated while working on the Southern Connector (189), which connects Interstate 89 to Burlington. The technical name for the installation is File Under File Under So. Co. since the paperwork was from bureaucratic delays relating to the project. The eleven filing cabinets are welded onto each other in a tall thin tower and contain a total of 38 drawers. The drawers are clad in vinyl stickers and graffiti. Most people would wonder how they got that way and I assume it's because the sculpture used to be lower to the ground until they moved it in 2020. Now the cement cylinder it sits upon is covered in vinyl stickers, too.
There are other sculptures in the world who claim the same title as this one, so it remains unclear if this structure is technically the tallest. Check out more of my photos below.

It's also the first time knowing about it, is it being used still to this day or is it mostly just a structural artwork?
The graffiti looks wonderful and the clear blue sky has depth :)
Thank you : ) It's just structural artwork now.
I see, you're welcome :)
