Yesterday, I visited Tubajon Aquamarine Park it is a hidden gem located in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental. This 22-hectare mangrove forest offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I wanted to check out the area and take pictures because it was my first time there. It so happened I came here at 1630 hours and no sun at all, if it is sunny you will see the crystal clear water and beautiful view of the mangroves and the sea.
The entrance fee is Php30 and the cottages range from Php500-700. They also have a Kayak and boat rental, which is a per-hour rental. There is also a parking fee for a motorcycle Php10 while other vehicles cost Php50.
This park is known for its cool waters and is a perfect spot for swimming, snorkeling, diving, and kayaking. Let's dive into the fascinating world of mangrove beaches.
But before you reach the area you will be overwhelmed by many mangroves and the beautiful spot to stop by and picnic beside the beach and under the coconut trees.
The bridges to the cottages are made from bamboo and they called them "bamboo bridges". You can see mangroves as you walk along it is very quiet and all you can hear are the sounds of the bamboo creaking as you walk along. It is almost a 2-minute walk from the entrance to the bamboo cottages and to the open waters. The waters are pristine, with lush greenery, and unique bamboo cottages, it's no wonder this park has become a popular destination.

What Makes Tubajon Aquamarine Park Special?
Mangrove Forest: The park's centerpiece is a vast mangrove forest, providing a natural habitat for various marine life.
Since it is weekdays only a few people visit to have some fun and enjoy the beach and the activities.
The kids are enjoying the waters.
Bamboo Cottages: These eco-friendly cottages offer a comfortable and cozy stay, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings.
You can also go to the next cottages by using this bridge.
Swimming: Take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters and cool off from the tropical heat.
Kayaking: Explore the mangrove forest and its inhabitants up close through a kayaking adventure.
And there are also life vests for rent in the area.
Boat Rides: Enjoy a leisurely boat ride around the park and admire the scenic views.
During my visit, it was low tide and according to locals when it is high tide it could reach up to 6 meters high up to the foot of the cottage. Each cottage has stairs leading to the water so you can easily jump into it.
They also have garbage bamboo bins to put waste on.
Getting there
The easiest way to get to Aquamarine Park is by car or motorcycle. Alternatively, visitors can take a jeepney or bus from Cagayan de Oro City to Laguindingan Public Market and then take a tricycle to the park.
Tips for Visiting
- Bring your proper swimming attire.
- Bring waterproofing for your gadgets.
- Supervise your children at all times.
- Do not leave your things unattended.
- Be careful of the spikes from sprouting mangroves.
- Be respectful of the location.
- Clean as you go and do not litter anywhere.
