Hallo liebe Community,
ich bin wieder da! Leider ist unser Urlaub auf Rhodos bereits wieder Geschichte, ich hätte gerne noch länger bleiben können. Aber nun kann ich Euch wenigstens einige neue Berichte liefern.
Nach einem ruhigen Flug mit fantastischem Sonnenaufgang landeten wir auf Rhodos. Da auch unser Gepäck eines der ersten auf dem Gepäckband war, konnten wir zügig in den klimatisierten Bus steigen. Das war auch wirklich nötig, bei über 30 Grad und 2 Stunden fahrt bis zu unserem Hotel im Süden der Insel.
Unterwegs konnten wir bereits den herrlichen Ausblick aufs Mittelmeer genießen. Leider änderte sich dies je weiter wir nach Süden kamen. Immer mehr verkohlte Bäume und Sträucher säumten die Straße, alles noch Überbleibsel von den gewaltigen Bränden auf Rhodos im letzten Jahr. Hier wird die Natur noch einige Zeit brauchen um sich vollständig zu erholen.
In unserem Hotel angekommen war davon dann schlagartig nichts mehr zu sehen. Alles grün und gepflegt. Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer in einem der schönen weißen kleinen Bungalows mit einem schattigen Balkon der sogar etwas Meerblick hatte. Nachdem wir uns häuslich eingerichtet hatten machten wir uns auf in Richtung Restaurant zum Mittagessen und zu einer kleinen Erkundungstour des Geländes. Hier schon mal ein kleiner Vorgeschmack auf den Pool des Hotels. Mehr davon dann in meinem nächsten Post, in dem ich Euch mitnehme auf einen kleinen Rundgang durchs Hotel Magic Life Plimmiri.

Hello dear community,
I'm back! Unfortunately our vacation on Rhodes is already history, I would have liked to have stayed longer. But now I can at least give you some new reports.
After a quiet flight with a fantastic sunrise we landed on Rhodes. Since our luggage was one of the first on the baggage carousel, we were able to quickly get into the air-conditioned bus. That was really necessary, with over 30 degrees and a 2-hour drive to our hotel in the south of the island.
On the way we were able to enjoy the wonderful view of the Mediterranean. Unfortunately this changed the further south we went. More and more charred trees and bushes lined the road, all leftovers from the massive fires on Rhodes last year. Nature will need some time here to fully recover.
When we arrived at our hotel there was suddenly nothing left to see. Everything was green and well-kept. We had a family room in one of the beautiful white little bungalows with a shady balcony that even had a bit of a sea view. After we had settled in, we headed to the restaurant for lunch and a little tour of the grounds. Here is a little taste of the hotel pool. Oh my goodness that's a really drastic change of scenery. How difficult it is to maintain conditions after a natural disaster. At least you were able to enjoy a small oasis where you decided to spend your vacations, surely you had a great time and there will be many more pictures of the whole experience.
