Karekare beach is a beautiful and secluded spot on the West Coast of Aukland, New Zealand. Its striking black sand and gorgeous scenery has attracted many locals and tourists alike. Surrounded by rocky cliffs, Karekare beach overlooks the Tasman Sea and provides visitors with incredible panoramic views. Visitors can enjoy walking along this stretch of coastline or venture into the forested hills that surround it and discover the Karekare falls.
Karekare beach is a great place to spend a day away from hustle and bustle life, it is located just 45 minute drive from Auckland downtown. The rocks here are beautiful and the waves sometimes notoriously wild and unpredictable. This can be a fun time for anyone from experienced surfers to families looking for a relaxing time together.
From Karekare beach parking area, the Karekare falls is just 15 minute walking away. The falls are a great spot for swimming and relaxing in the fresh water pools that feed into them. The scenery surrounding the falls leaves visitors feeling rejuvenated and happy while enjoying the natural beauty of New Zealand.
Karekare Falls
It is suggested to visit Karekare beach at summer time. However, this coast can be found stunning in a different way in a day of winter. I visited Karekare beach in a day in June when the sunshine was less seen and sky was covered by dark cloud, but luckily there was no rain. This visit gave me the experience of watching and listening to the sound of strong waves crashing hardly to the rock cliffs and made me feel the majesty as well as the ferocity of nature. And exploring the distinctive rock formations along the cliff edge is also a great thing that I enjoyed to do there as well.

Actually I felt a bit scared when standing on the rock and trying to take photos 😄. Lots of effort had been spent on those pics 😂
