I read half of his book Noli Me Tángere but didn't quite finish it but that was interesting. I didn't know he was such an influential figure in the country. This park looks like a great place to hide from the sun 😁

Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, was also an esteemed ophthalmologist, writer, and genius. Thanks for your interest in his famous book. And yeah, Rizal Park in Davao City has a huge roofed courtyard, a distinctive architectural feature that we usually don't find in other green environments - away from the scorching rays of the sun and occasional rains too.
