I have been to Dublin twice - in quite quick succession, as it turned out. Once was for a trip with friends - which I may post photos of another time, but the second time was for a book signing!
I know not all of you are into the book talk, but that isn't what I wanted to talk about - just the weekend as a whole!
Because authors were flying in from all over the world, the organisers arranged some fun trips for us, and one of the was the Viking Tour - pictured above!
You are provided with a Viking helmet, you get on the tour bus, and you get a guided tour of the city. About half way around, the bus magically turns into a boat and you get a little river tour too!
This is not really your typical city tour. Yes, there was some good factual info about Dublin as we went around, but this is basically a comedy show on a bus. Our tour guide was absolutely hilarious, and @diveratt and I were in hysterics most of the time. If you ever get the chance to do it, I would highly recommend it if you want to give those chuckle muscles a workout!
The book signing itself was at Croke Park, which is one of the most enormous and brilliant places I have ever been to. We were lucky enough to be allowed out into the seating area of the football stadium, but unfortunately, we weren't allowed on the pitch!
In the evening, there was a fancy dinner and party arranged, and it gave us a chance to get all dressed up!
We were all about the selfies!
Also that weekend, we tried various pubs, and Kevin had a LOT of Guinness, and we simply enjoyed the beauty of Dublin - which is a magical, friendly place where everyone seems to always be happy!
