Greetings fellow Hivers, this is J again and since I have been to the city I can't missed the chanced to visit the famous free museum. Which is called the National Museum of the Philippines - Cebu. It was launched last July 28, 2023. This museum became the 16th National Museum of the Philippines.
Located near the Plaza Independencia and Fort San Pedro which I had also visited. Looking back I have been into the Plaza Independencia and take a stroll there It's was June 2023 and I have this photo of the museum at the back but I still didn't know that It would become a museum. So I have thought that during those times the artifacts are already placed inside. And at the back of the museum is the CCLEX. To got there you have to look for an entrance because the center part is the exit. The museum is actually open every Tuesdays to Sundays except holidays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
We have found the guard and just said that where's the main entrance so the guard said that we have to sit for a while and listen some rules and regulations about the place. It's already started when to got there so we basically just heard tiny part of it and some of those are.
• Not to bring big bags inside
• Food and beverage
• Umbrella
• Water Tumbler
• Pets
• Art Materials
You are also prohibited to do the following actions such as;
• Don't touch the pieces such as paintings, sculptures and other objects.
• Avoid taking video
• Don't used camera flash
• Dress appropriately
• Keep the voices low
• Avoid running
Upon finishing listing the speaker you can now get inside to the museum. The guard will open the door for you.
There's a receptionist the will write your name a a group representative and there's a curator that would explain the Rules and Regulations once again. If you have carry huge bagged they have safe place for and especially if you have also carried some foods and beverages. The curator would explain which side to so first. He explains that we should start in this area and just follow the leads after that we can now proceed to the upper part of the establishment.
To begin the tour. You will get to know first the Kinaiyahan: Cebu's Natural Wonders. There's this huge map of the island Queen City of the South.
And you can also saw an statue of an animal called tamarraw. You can read some details about it why is it small you you will also see some bones attached in the tamarraws card board body. Followed by introducing you the different types of minerals found in Cebu. Different stones, energy sources with it's corresponding details as well.
Next part is you need to enter this box type to see the different types of corrals and stones as well that some of it are found in the Polambato which is our neighboring municipalities.
Done with the Cebu's Natural Wonders which the next part is the A Home to Wild Life or the
here in Cebu. You will see huge trees which some of those are the famous Talisay Tree this tress is massive and they're also some unfamiliar tree.
You will see birds, butterflies which is very detailed
makes me wonder if those are real. You know those typical life in wild. What amaze me is the landscape very detailed and realistic.
Which the next in wild is the aquatic life here in Cebu. You will see the hanging famous giant whale shark that can be found is Oslob and those king crab, starfish and fishes.
I can't name these fishes because I wasn't that familiar to them. Beside the giant whale shark is a spot where you can make your own art. A coloring spot perhaps.
You will go out and enter another door. Which you can see some artifacts. There's a individual who is a watcher because the things in that rooms are fragile.
Jars which is the famous water storage in an ancient time. Those Jars that's found in our Municipality at the back of our Church where some of those Jars has a joints and skulls. Those Jars are in shaped.
You will also the Gold Mask which makes my eyes big. It's actually tiny and thin gold. Place in a box of glass. I can tell that it's really a real gold.
Furthermore you can see tons of jars with different sizes and bottles in different shapes that's no longer available in this era.
Pirates boots, plates, guns with their rusty bullets. Which is very amazing!
Next side is where you can see pirates boat and other donated boats from the different municipalities of Cebu. Showing you the things and tools that is needed to when you're making a boats. And also on how you will catch a fish. Things that tackles about life near the ocean. The next part the the souvenir shops. Keychains, Mugs, Hats and T-shirts are all available there. The is the last part for you in the 1st floor.
On the upper part you will steppig a steps to the grad stairs with a massive chandelier light in the center.
You will see the huge wall the represent The Battle of Mactan (if I'm not mistaken) I take my chance to take some aesthetic shoots in the part. There are bleachers for you to take a couple of sit.
You will see structures of the famous people of the Philippines.
Upon entering the other side of the museum you will the a big illustrations of Dr. Jose P. Rizal the National Hero in the Philippines. This part is t
Where the paintings of Martino Abellana. Work of Art, impressive. That's how I can describe Mr. Abellana.
I can't count those paintings there because there are so many. I guess it's all 50 or more. In the other side are the arts of the holy child Sr. Sto. Niño.
You can see the exterior tiny version part of the National Museum and also the famous Church in Boljoon that is facing the sea called the Patrocinio De Maria Church. Upon seeing those things in the museum I am very delighted. Ever since I had take the course about heritage. The past amaze me and still keep me wondering. Glad that people are preserving those arts. Where as people in this generation can take a glimpse about the ancient. Where we can find answers about our ancestors and for us to know about the happenings for the past decades.
This is J once again and I have encouraged you to visit the National Museum of the Philippines in Cebu which is a free spot for you and your family, friends to enjoy.
