Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you're all doing fine today. Have you imagined your self flying with the clouds at the mountain? In this blog, I am going to take the second highest highest peak in the Philippines. Do you know about Mount Dulang-Dulang or what the trekkers called as "D2"? This mountain is the one that you won't forget if you'll try to visit it.
My adventure begins going to Bukidnon, it's a province in Mindanao that is known for its green scenery and beautiful landscape. As I land in Cagayan de Oro, I think it's a three to four hour drive going to the town of Lantapan which is the gateway to Mt. Dulang-Dulang. When I arrived in Lantapan, I need to register at the local tourism office and then secure permits. It is very important to secure a permit because this mountain is not just a trekking site but also a sacred site for the Talaandig tribe. After completing all the needed requirements for climbing the mountain, the real adventure begins!
Before the trekkers climb, it's important to meet the Talaandig tribe and their elders to give us a short ritual. The ritual is called "Pamuhat", as it was believed that it give us guidance from all the paranormal events that might happen. It's also amazing as I witness this ritual because it shows how the tribe shows respect to their ancestors and to nature. The Talaandig's are not just a tribe who protects the mountain but also the one's who share stories about it. Like if we can't do the ritual we'll get lost going to the summit and they said that others can't go back to the base because of paranormal activities that might happen if we won't seek for protection from the tribe's ritual.
As I step onto the ground for the start of our trek, I can feel the air that is fresher. The way starts at a mossy forest, where I can see the tall trees that stretches its branches everywhere. I feel like I am at an enchanted kingdom just like what I saw on the movies. While I keep going on the mountain reveals something new that I can say only my eyes can capture. There are many plants that seems familiar to me and there are some that are new, I can also hear the sounds of the leaves rustling together with the chirping of the birds.
This trek is very challenging to me because I'm not into this, but I did not regret joining this trek. My fellow trekkers says that climbing this mountain is a test to our knees! I can say it's true hahaha because my legs are hurting and feeling numb already but as I keep going on I can't stop but to be amazed by the beauty of the mountain that keeps me going.
After many hours of hiking, we finally reach the campsite. I can say that it's wide and I overthink about something that might harm us also because it's my first time joining a trek like this. This will be the place where we will rest before we continue to push going to the summit. When the night comes, I can hear the sounds of the different animals near us.
As the night goes on, we talked with the other campers and trekkers about their way up here.
We wake up early, while the sky is still dark, for the final ascent. Climbing in the pre-dawn hours adds an extra thrill to the experience. The trail becomes steeper, and the air gets thinner, but every step brings us closer to the peak.
As the sun begins to rise, the summit reveals itself. And what a sight it is! The view of Mount Dulang-Dulang is absolutely breathtaking. The clouds spread out below like a vast white ocean, with the peaks of neighboring mountains poking through. The cold wind brushes against your face, and for a moment, time seems to stand still.
After spending time at the summit, it's time to head back down. The descent is faster but just as challenging. Your legs may feel shaky from the climb, but the memories of the summit make every step worthwhile.
As we leave the forest and return to the base, there's a mix of exhaustion and fulfillment. The journey may be over, but the experience stays with you forever.
As we leave Mount Dulang-Dulang, I hope this story inspires you to visit and experience its magic for yourself. The climb may be tough, but the rewards are endless. From the lush forests and starry nights to be the breathtaking summit views, every moment is worth it.
Join me as I climb one of the highest peak, the majestic Mount Dulang-Dulang.
The Start of the Adventure
My adventure begins going to Bukidnon, it's a province in Mindanao that is known for its green scenery and beautiful landscape. A Humbling Welcome: Meeting the Talaandig Tribe

Into the Forest: The Start of the Trail
As I step onto the ground for the start of our trek, I can feel the air that is fresher. The way starts at a mossy forest, where I can see the tall trees that stretches its branches everywhere. The Campsite
After many hours of hiking, we finally reach the campsite. I can say that it's wide and I overthink about something that might harm us also because it's my first time joining a trek like this. This will be the place where we will rest before we continue to push going to the summit. When the night comes, I can hear the sounds of the different animals near us.

Descending back to Reality
After spending time at the summit, it's time to head back down. The descent is faster but just as challenging. Your legs may feel shaky from the climb, but the memories of the summit make every step worthwhile.
As we leave the forest and return to the base, there's a mix of exhaustion and fulfillment. The journey may be over, but the experience stays with you forever.

Oh my God! so beautiful! That forest is one of my dream adventures, @marieyanlab
I just saw it on television and how majestic it looks because of the mosses that grows on the tree trunk and branches. I really want to witness its beauty personally. I wish I could go to that place someday. 😊
