Last 2022, I went to the Communal Ranch in Bukidnon, Philippines with some of our family members. It was my first time visiting a place like this, a ranch. I was very excited to see what it looked like. I want to share my experience with you, so you can feel like you are there too.
The Journey to the Ranch
Our drive to the ranch was fun. Actually, the road was surrounded by green trees and wide fields. The air was cool and fresh, and I can see the mountains beautifully, I really didn't regret coming to Bukidnon. Everything looked so calm and beautiful.
I was amazed by how big the ranch was when we arrived. When we got inside, I could see the field of green grass stretching as far as my eyes could see. It was so quiet, and I immediately felt relaxed. All my life, I imagined to go here and this time I got the chance. I'm thankful to our uncle that he brought me and some of our family members here.
A Wide and Peaceful Landscape
When I got there, me and my uncle talked to some of the staffs there, and do you know what? They said that the ranch is the only government-owned ranch in the Philippines. It is really very big, the staffs said it's about 642 hectares. Standing there, I felt so small hahahaha compared to the wide, open space. It made me feel free, like I could run or shout, and nobody would mind, because I think I really need it.
There were cows and horses everywhere. Some were eating grass, while others were just roaming around. When I looked up, the clouds were fluffy and white and the sky was bright blue. This place was nothing compared to the noisy, busy city and life.
Discovering the Ranch
I enjoyed walking and roaming around the ranch. There were trails that showed me different parts of the area. Each path led to a new, beautiful views. I really can't explain my feelings at this place. For me, everything feel magical, the smooth hills and the bright flowers that I saw was terrific as I must say.
The workers that we talked to were kind and they even shared stories about their life there. They told me how they take care of the cows and make sure the ranch stays clean and green. When I heard them telling me about it, it made me appreciate their hard work and the peacefulness of the place even more.
This one, if you love taking pictures you will really enjoy the ranch. Everywhere I looked, I can't believe that I am even there. I took photos of the cows and horses, trees, and the wide fields. One of my favorite pictures was of a single tree on the field with like a swamp maybe with the mountains behind it. Actually, it was simple but it's so pretty.
Admiring the Mountain Views
When I reached a hilltop, I think it's the best part of the ranch. From there, I could see everything, even the mountains far away. The view was so beautiful that I forgot everything else for a moment. If you're having problems, please come visit this place, you won't regret it.
As I stood there, I noticed how the mountains in the distance looked like they were painted. I actually stayed there for a not so very long time, just looking at the mountains and enjoying the quiet place. I haven't seen a place like this because from the place I am from there's nothing like this.
Why This Place is Special
For me, the Communal Ranch is not just a place to see, it is a place to feel. It reminded me of how simple and beautiful life can be. I am teary-eyed as I reflected about my life there. How fortunate I am to visit this place. So, if you are feeling stressed or tired of everything, this is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.
For spending time with family and friends, it is also a great spot. You can walk together, take pictures, and share stories while enjoying the fresh air. I felt so lost back then, but when I am here at this place I felt like I am free from all I had encountered in life. Whether you love nature or just want a quiet escape of your stressed life, I tell you this place is worth visiting.
Helpful Tips for Visitors
Now, if you plan to visit, these are some tips that I can share.
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes because you will be walking a lot.
- Bring water and snacks as there are no stores nearby.
- Protect yourself from the sun, maybe a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen will help.
- Be respectful of the place and animals. If you are there, please don't leave your trash everywhere, and keep a safe distance from the cows and horses.
- Bring a camera or phone. If you want to capture the beautiful views of the place.
One of the best experiences of my life was visiting the Communal Ranch in Bukidnon, and it reminded me to appreciate nature. As I left the ranch, the moment when I was there is always in my memories forever. I hope I can visit again soon.
