Tucked away in the mountains of Carmen, Cebu, is the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park. This park is the biggest of its kind in the Philippines, stretching over a vast 170 hectares. It's a place full of animals, flowers, and exciting adventures. It's also a great spot to relax and enjoy nature.
The land where Cebu Safari now stands was originally part of Hacienda M. Lhuillier, a well-known businessman and nature lover. Michel's dream was to turn his estate into a place where people could enjoy nature and learn about animals. The safari officially opened in 2018, becoming not just a fun attraction but also a center for wildlife conservation.
Today, the Cebu Safari is home to more than 1,000 animals from 120 species. It's a safe haven where the animals are well taken care of in large spaces that feel like their natural homes.
The adventure started as soon as I arrived at the Welcome Pavilion, the first stop inside the park. This area was big and welcoming, with friendly staff helping visitors plan their day. I take a picture of the map and decided where to go first since the park is huge.
The Cebu Safari team has made it easy to explore the park. You can hop on the tram to quickly get to different areas, or you can walk along the well-marked trails if you want to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery.
My first stop was the African Savanna, one of the park's most famous attractions. It felt like stepping into Africa! I saw giraffes, zebras, antelopes and other animals roaming freely in a wide open space.
The highlight for me was seeing the white lion and other types of lions. They looked so calm, sitting under the shade of trees, but you could still feel their strength. It was amazing to watch them close.
Next, I visited Orangu Town, where the orangutans live. These playful animals swung from ropes and climbed trees like they were putting on a show for us. Their energy was contagious, and they made everyone smile.
Not far there was the Tiger Turf, home to the beautiful Bengal tigers. These big cats were truly majestic. Watching them quietly move around their enclosure made me appreciate their power and grace.
After the excitement of seeing the animals, I went to Michel's Garden. This part of the park was so calming and beautiful. The garden was filled with colorful flowers, neatly arranged paths, and benches where you could sit and relax.
Walking through Michel's Garden was like entering a peaceful oasis. The flowers were bright and lovely, and it was a great place to take pictures. This part of the park felt like a tribute to the beauty of nature. I really like this part of the park because it is stressed-free.
The Aviary Dome was next on my list, and it was magical. This huge dome is home to all kinds of birds. Inside, birds flew freely above and around us. I saw parrots, peacocks, and other birds with bright, colorful feathers.
One of the best moments was feeding and interacting with the Macaw birds and parrots. It was so smart and friendly! The parrots also talk, as in they talk a lot. The Aviary Dome made me feel like I was part of the bird's world.
From the Aviary Dome, I followed the Animal Trail, where I met some of the park's elephants. These gentle giants were fascinating to watch as they moved gracefully despite their size.
Along the trail, I also saw deer, ostriches, and monkeys. Each animal had its own charm, and I enjoyed learning little facts about them from the signs and the friendly staff.
Cebu Safari has several places where you can grab a snack or enjoy a full meal. I stopped at one of the cafes for lunch, and it was just what I needed to recharge. The food was tasty, and the views from the dining area were incredible.
One thing I loved about Cebu Safari is its focus on keeping the environment clean and safe. It's a smoke-free facility, which means no one is allowed to smoke anywhere in the park. This makes the air fresh and keeps the animals healthy.
This park also promotes wildlife conservation and teaches visitors about the importance of protecting animals and nature. It's not just a fun place; it's also a place where you can learn and grow your love for the environment.
