RE: Tried some Venezuelan food for the first time

in Worldmappin2 years ago

I think it was not the best place to try for the first time the gastronomy of my country, most Venezuelan restaurants usually emphasize the arepa more than the rest of the dishes. I also find it hard to eat an arepa of those dimensions, just like with hamburgers I always make a mess on the table.
From what I see in your photo, you ate an arepa de pabellón. Pabellon is another typical Venezuelan dish, I'm sure you would have liked it better if you didn't eat it inside the arepa. 😁
Our gastronomy is just becoming known in the world due to the current Venezuelan migration, for sure you are going to find often this kind of restaurants. And yes, the prices are higher, the flour with which arepa is made is more expensive outside Venezuela.
I hope your next experience will surpass this one. 👍

I am looking forward to finding a better place to get some Venezuelan food one day. It was definitely tasty. I liked how the different flavors meshed together to create something special. This one was just too big and messy for my tastes.
