Marrakech is a fascinating city that offers a multitude of activities to discover. If you're looking for adventure, excursions from Marrakech are a great option for exploring the city's surroundings. In this article, I will present you the best excursions to do from Marrakech.
The first excursion I recommend is a visit to the Ourika Valley. This valley is located about an hour from Marrakech and offers beautiful scenery, with its mountains, waterfalls and traditional Berber villages. You can also discover botanical gardens and olive groves.
I highly recommend that you try the delicious Moroccan tagine. This traditional dish is prepared with a variety of ingredients such as meat, chicken or vegetables, cooked slowly in a spicy sauce with herbs and dried fruits. The result is a flavorful and fragrant dish that offers a unique culinary experience. This region (Ourika) is well known for the most delicious Tajines in Morocco.
People who are interested in the history and culture of the region, I recommend a visit to the city of Essaouira. Located on the Atlantic coast, this city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can discover a fortified medina, colorful souks, as well as beautiful beaches.
Another great excursion that I suggest is the visit of the valley of the palm grove. This valley is located at the gates of Marrakech and offers magnificent landscapes, with its thousands of palm trees, its gardens and its traditional kasbahs. You will also be able to go for a ride on a camel or a quad. Don't forget to visit the Toubkal National Park if you like hiking. This park is located in the Atlas Mountains, this park offers breathtaking landscapes, with its snowy peaks and green valleys. You can hike there for several days or just one day, depending on your level.
Ouzoud Waterfalls: Located about 3 hours from Marrakech, these waterfalls are the highest in Morocco, with a height of 110 meters. You can hike to the foot of the waterfalls, as well as take a boat ride to discover the place from another angle.

Merzouga Located about 8 hours from Marrakech, these dunes offer unique landscapes, with their golden sand and green oasis. You can take a camel ride, spend a night in a Berber camp, and watch the sunrise or sunset over the dunes.
