good morning hivians in today's post we travel to the top end of Australia to explore the magical Daintree rainforest and a popular tourist attraction, the Sky rail. the Sky rail was first developed as a small flying fox to assist workers and construction items get through the forest as many of the man made bridges kept being destroyed due to the heavy rains. On-site is the original flying fox that was used and a historical walk around the original launch base. You'll be freaked out by early images of people dangling on a rope with a small base. This was later upgraded to a small cage. Still scary. in 1987 a concept was developed to bring full cable carts to provide a tourist attraction. to implement the cable carts world first techniques needed to be implemented. these included using helicopters to drop teams to remote locations to install poles. once completed it was at the time the world's longest cable sky rail at 7.5km over Barron Gorge, through rainforests, over water falls and a magnificent journey above a world that had sat untouched for millions of years. it's important to note that this rainforest is the oldest on the planet, older than the Amazon. a return trip is 2.5hrs with a cafe located at the base and a town at the peak. markets align the sky rail and homes inside what almost looks to be paradise. if you're looking at travelling to Australia, don't pass up the opportunity to visit the skyrail. you won't be disappointed!

I've never done the Sky rail even though I have been right past it a few times.
It's pretty good. When you see the old one you'll think WTF? Lol literally just a cage.
