Piazza San Zero is another historical site in Verona, home to the Church of Saint Zeno, which has a history of more than a thousand years. However, the church has been expanded and renovated over time. Over time, a community has formed around the church. The church is located far from the city center because it was built where the body of the eighth bishop of Verona may have been buried after his death in 380 AD. It is a Roman cemetery that was required to be buried away from the city walls. Later, when an underground toilet was dug up on one side a few years ago, many tombs and inscriptions were found.
On the side of the square is the Church of San Procolo, the fourth bishop of Verona. Therefore, the square is closed on the east side. The building is unique, with the Roman facade of the cathedral and the bell tower on the left. There is a wall tower that remains. The rest of the square is distinctive, with simple, low buildings that make the church look grand.
We went to this place before going home. While waiting for the train, we met up with friends who live in that area. After that, we went for a walk at night. This church looks big and prominent. The front is a wide lawn, making it even more prominent even when driving past it. We wanted to come and take a closer look. Even though it was rainy and cold that day, we still saw the beauty of the church at night. The surrounding area was normal buildings and houses.
Standing in front of the lawn of the church, I glanced at a horse standing out from the dark corner with trees. I couldn't take my eyes off it and walked closer to take a picture. I walked to play with the big puppet. It looked cute and beautiful even though I didn't know what it meant. But it was a highlight of that place at night.
We walked until it was almost time to catch the train. This place wasn't far from the train station. We didn't have much time, but it was worth it to see this beautiful place with a thousand-year history. I hope everyone likes my post. Thank you for following. Have a nice day.
