An evening in my safe place: Marin Hill (ENG/ESP)

Do you have a place that is your safe place?

The other day I had ended up mentally tired after a hard day and felt I needed to visit nature. Somewhere clear, vast, and green.

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a place surrounded by some hills with simple and beautiful trails available to the most. This is the Casupo Municipal Park, located in my hometown: Valencia, Venezuela.

This is a large park with several hills with different names. On this occasion, my boyfriend and I went to Cerro Marin in search of clearing our minds and stretching our bodies a bit.

We climbed a few meters, and quickly got views of the entire city.

One of the attractions of this municipal park is that the expansive views open up before your eyes just a few meters up, unlike some mountains in Merida -which is the city where I currently live- that you have to climb for a few hours to get such an unobstructed view.

I got a spot among some typical plants of the area where we had a beautiful view, and we sat there to rest. I thought about how many buildings and restaurants would like to have a view like the one we had at that moment (and for free, it should be noted).

While I was cleaning my boyfriend's hands to paint his nails, I mentioned to him that the Marin is my safe place.

I started climbing this small hill a few years ago and I have grown very fond of it, to the point that I want to have it tattooed on my chest. To me, it means home.

As we stood there with the whole city right under our feet, night was falling on us.

Another time, I probably would have been a little scared to be in that place without sunlight, however, I felt so comfortable that day that I told my boyfriend that we should stay a little longer, as I had never had a night view of the city from those heights.

And what a wonderful choice that was... The sky was getting painted with the typical pinkish colors of the Valencian sunsets and little by little it was getting darker. Everything was lighting up in front of me so I asked my boyfriend to keep quiet for a moment, just to appreciate those visuals from up there with all our senses.

What a beautiful gift El Marin gave us that day.

Beautiful nature escape! The Marin Hill sounds like a special place. I can relate to having that one spot that feels like home. Cherish these moments.😊

I have this sometimes, I wish there were more places in the UK rather than just your local park.

Yeah, it's a blessing to have these kind of places at home. I guess you have other ways of clearing up your mind :)

A beautiful sight with my love one.
