Tucked away at the southern trip of Cebu, Obong Spring offers the perfect balance between natures tranquility and refreshing dip in a crystal clear waters. Spring is a haven for those looking to escape the heat and unwind.
Hey, Wanderers! How are you? Hope you're doing all just fine. This is minelwanders20 taking you to a new unforgettable journey. Let me take you to a hidden gem in Cebu, where the fresh water collides with the warmth of the Sea - Obong Spring Dalaguete.
We are having our own transportation going to Obong Spring Dalaguete. My cousin bring his car, and the capacity of his car is just enough for us. It was a very smooth travel, I even took a nap while where on our way. My cousin plays some solemn music and by the help of the airconditioned car, I get sleepy immmediately.
If your curios and want to ask how to get there just by doing commute. I will teach you, it is just so easy. 😊
If your from Cebu City, you can go directly to the South bus Terminal. From there, you can take a bus bound to Dalaguete, Oslob. The rides usually takes two-three hours depending on the traffic 😅
After about an hour of travel, you can pass by at City of Naga, Main Road. Known as the City of Lights. You can pass by at their Pasilong sa Naga and Naga Boardwalk. Later, about half an hour from City of Naga you can pass by at Carcar City. This is a key landmark and popular for travelers to take a quick break and bought some delicious delicacies.
Another beautiful town that you can pass is Argao, known for it's historic Church and Spanish era heritage. At this point, you are already near at Dalaguete.
Once you arrived at the Dalaguete Town proper, look for the Dalaguete Municipal Hall and St. William Church. From here, you can take a motorcycle (habal-habal) or tricycle to reach Obong Spring. It would only take 10-15 minutes of travel.
By the way, this travel adventure was planned by me and my cousins. Since we had a small break from work and school, we decided to take a getaway even for a short period of time. We just want to release all our stress and everything that's weighing us to think clearly and peacefully. And also we missed our company so much. It's been ages since we get to bond with each other. 😅 And when we got the chance, we jump to the conclusion without a second thought.
This is my cousin Jebe, he is the one who initiates to make this travel possible. He had all the ideas where we should go, who are the companions for this trip, what food to bring and whose car to use. It is so funny that we didn't plan this activity carefully. We didn't have any specific details about this trip. He just said, who wants to go with me? Or do you want to go swimming and unwind? If your in, then let's go! 😅 Funny right? Others plan this kind of activity ahead of time, because it needs to be prepared for everything. And since this is a get-go activity, we just bought some food and other things needed from the road we pass by.
And regarding about the place, very clear from the title and the name of the place - Obong Spring. It is basically a Spring, or water flows naturally from the top/mountains. But not just that, the uniqueness of the place is that it is not just a Spring but also a beach connected to it.
From my photo, you can see at the back that there's a water going through. Ahead of that is the beach. The water flowing from the spring will be going to the beach. So if you want to swim at the spring then it's okey but if you also want to try at the beach that is also amazing. This travel is a 2-in-1 adventure.
When I saw my cousin took a picture at this branch of the guava tree (I think), I was amazed and at the same time eager to try it also. I want my photo to be unique and new since I will post it on my social media accounts. And it also gives an intagramable vibe since you are at the branch of the tree and the background is full of different trees and the beach also. It is just so beautiful.
So green. 😍 Just look how beautiful and relaxing the nature is. 🤗 Just by looking at the scenery, it really gives you peaceful/clear mind and at ease.

We went there last 2015 right after our Osmena peak trekk. It is a beautiful spring.
